Tomorrow morning I'm getting a graft put in to replace my clotted fistula and I'm wondering if there's a waiting period before It can be used or do they take my catheter out at the same time? Thanks for any info.

Not familiar with graft, but when husband stopped PD, they put perm cath in neck and used it till his fistula was ready to use.  They did not take cath. out until they were sure his fistula was ready to be used.  Seems like it was 3 to 4 weeks, but can't say for sure.  There are some on this site that would be better qualified than I.

a graft takes 2 to 4 weeks it just has to heal but doesn't have to mature like a fistula
