Going through life tied to a chair!

« on: January 06, 2007, 09:15:03 PM »

I took my computer all the way to Spokane and couldn't find a hook-up that worked.  So, I gave up.  No reason to try and get on someone else's computer for just 5 minutes and there was no time.

I dialyzed in Spokane which is 45 miles from my Nephew's home; where I stayed.

Now, the small world part --  Remember my first dialysis center and how mean they were to me there??  I had just come off a 17 year transplant and did not want to go back on dialysis, so my attitude wasn't real good, but I wanted the chair against the wall and I had it for about 2 weeks and then they stuck me under the Air Conditioner and bad TV and poor lighting.  I had a royal fit and the 2 women there at the time decided to "show" me and never gave me the good chair again.  I needed it to keep up on work.  The bad chair was too cold and had bad lighting to where I couldn't read.

Well, my first dialysis in Spokane, a thousand miles away from Sacramento, I'm sitting there and this lady comes up and says "Do you remember me?"  Since I'm from Spokane and dialyzed there 20 years ago, it is common for me to see familiar faces.  So, I smiled big and said "well, you sure look familiar..."  She said "from Sutter in Sacramento?".....  My face went from little miss sunshine to the wicked witch from The Wizard of Oz!  After the shock left my body I said "Yea, I remember you!  You were really mean to me.  I lost my job because of you.  Blah Blah.... she said "I don't want to hash anything over....."

The good thing is that she is in MY territory now.  There is no way my family would let that happen to me.  But, when you are by yourself it is hard to fight the system.  I know if I would have had family with me at that bad center they would have treated me a little better.

Otherwise, Christmas was nice.  We had a white Christmas and I loved what Jaybird sent me.  Thanks!

Welcome back, Rerun!  I missed your posts.  Every once in a while I'd see a post and I'd think "I'd like to see what Rerun has to say about this!"  Now I can.  Good to have you back!
