I went to a meeting/seminar yesterday that was hosted by the Kidney Foundation of New Brunswick and PEI.  There were four speakers, one of the nephrologists, the renal nutritionist for the province, and the renal social worker (who I met that night for the first time), and a kidney researcher who works at the University of Prince Edward Island.  She's doing work on stem cells and kidney cancer.  It was really interesting.
