My dear daughter

« on: April 13, 2010, 07:09:55 PM »

I have been having upset stomach and the runs for about a week.  I am tired and cranky.  I don't have a fever or anything, and my neph says that "there's a virus going around".  What am I supposed to do with that?

How long do you ride things out before you go see another doctor?

call your gp right away. i always let my neph know about any problems but my gp always takes care of whatever. believe it or not dialysis patients can become dehydrated just llike everyone else.

Have you been on antibiotics or hospitalized recently?  Beginning of March I had upset stomach and diarrhea and wound up in the hospital in isolation for a week because of a bacterial infection called C-diff.  I would see you GP just to make sure it's not more than just "a virus going around".  Better to be safe than sorry.

I get that off and on, I think it's just dialysis and all of the meds and stuff all mixed together.
