THIS MEMBER IS BANNED FROM IHD

« on: February 20, 2010, 07:50:40 PM »

I don't expect to last the night. The powers that be, like the way things are being run and I don't expect things are going to change. It looks like rather than airing my observations in public, they; he or she, think that any real complaints should be handled in private.
I haven't been coming to this site as much lately because of treatment I consider unfair. Basically I think that rules should be for everybody.
As far as I know I haven't been rude to anyone.  I knew I was headed for trouble the minute I joined in the threads, "This is where I draw the line " and "You have got to be kidding!!!!!"
I will miss many of you here in this site.
Oh well. . .   :)
My email address is **LINK REMOVED**  in case I get banned and can't send or receive PMs

Why would you be banned for that?    Disagreeing or being "pissed off" at a Member or Moderator does not get you banned.  Attacking someone personally and continually and being an overall a$$ will get you banned.  Try that.  Maybe that will work.   :waiting;

Too many quotes I know:
The issue is being resolved.

Sluff/Admin
It doesn't seem reasonable that "someone" would hack the site just to change a post. Hackers usually have much stronger motives than that. Laying it off to that, and saying that "The issue is being resolved." is ludicrous.
It's like there's an elephant in the room and everybody's politely stepping around it and pretending it isn't there. The individual in question has been found out and still continues to wreck havoc. (too strong?) Because of previous relationships or for what ever reason, they are allowed to keep on doing things that are out a bit of kilter.
I realize that this is Sluff's sight and it can be run as he sees fit.
I'm an American and I realize the freedoms that we have here in this country are really great. I sometimes wonder if we have too much freedom. But we have to have rules, in any situation, when there is more than one person. For what ever reason, we can't just say BEHAVE! and allow a person with too much freedom bend/break the rules because we like them, or liked them.
The only way to correct a problem such as this is to bring this kind of behavior out into the open and openly discuss it and openly have the person responsible admit to mistakes.
Rules, laid down, need to be for everyone I have been "put in my place" and told that this sight belongs to someone and even though the site is supposed to be someplace that you can say what you want, (within reason) some of the people say what they want no matter what.
If the perpetrator is in the Admin. and is allowed the keys to the front door, so to speak, there is something wrong.
The administration does a pretty good job at keeping things straight in here. Understanding is a concept that goes a long way to helping people that continue to have so little in their lives. I understand the ideal of thinking "Oh that's just ol' so and so, his/her's/ it's life is in the crapper so we've just got to have the understanding to help him/her/it along the trail of life." But there comes a time when feet have to be put down and say "Enough is enough!" Again it could be that said person's whole life is wrapped up in IHD and it would kill them if they couldn't have that sort of control. But it wouldn't hurt to at least say BEHAVE or else.
One way or the other just saying "IHD! love it, or leave it" isn't the answer. The reasonable thing to do is analyze the situation, see if there is a problem, and do something about it.

Hurlock,

I really don't understand what your issues are. I think you need to figure out how to use a forum before you complain on how a forum is run. I will not expect any moderators to help you any further here. If they choose to help than fine but I have seen messages and more messages from Admins, Moderators and other members who have tried in vain to help you. I really think a lot of the issues you are having are self inflicted( regarding the site). There are much bigger fish to fry than trying to keep explaining the why's and how's to one member who just does not appreciate what we are trying to do here. There are other sites you can go to, in fact I know Dan is building one as well so why don't you get with him and help him out. You will then understand how a site is run and moderated correctly to keep it organized, I'm sorry you feel the way you do but I understand we will not please everyone. I expect this will end your membership voluntarily, but please understand you are welcome to come here if you need us and if you can do it within the IHD rules which I did not construct. Epoman did and if he were here, you probably would not.

I also stated that if anyone had a problem with the way I do things you could contact me in several ways, without doing it in public forum, but I have yet to recieve one message from you. I guess some people are just not happy unless they can make themselves look like a victim of some kind of mysterious comspiracy. I can assure you there is none of that going on here at IHD. That concept was created by other members who are no longer welcome here and some people just want to fall into believing ridiculous falsehoods.

You chose to do this in public which is why I responded in public. Any future response in public will result in banning you from IHD.

Sluff/Admin
I don't know, but I think that this is being blown out of proportion, but the last statement, "Any future response in public will result in banning you from IHD." seems to be a little extreme, considering the nature of the conversation. Apparently, Site Requests, Comments, Technical Help. isn't the proper place to air this kind of esoteric banter. These people are serious about "being in charge" and will wield their "power of control" in extreme measures.
The only way to make improvement to this kind of action is in a public forum. This allows others to see what was said and weigh in with their opinions and possibly help the powers that be with more reasonable decisions. I don't know Sluff, other than he or she seems to be supportive and wise in the forum and his or her Avatar is a picture of Dan Blocker; Hoss Cartwright. If the Avatar is any indication as to the personality of Sluff, it occurs to me that he or she is acting out of character.

Hurlock,   If you took some time to get to know people, you would know if Sluff was a he/she.   You would know the team in place right now isn't the original admin team.  It has changed and evolved.  Yes, we honor Epoman for his vision and for creating this site.

I am sorry to learn of your daughter and granddaughter's struggles.  Life really is hard for many of us.  Adversity makes some bitter and others strong and compassionate.  I choose the latter.  I hope your granddaughter is getting successful treatments and has a good prognosis,

"Being in charge--weilding power "---  until the bullies started to cause chaos on the site and send threatening pm's, how much did you hear from the admin team?  Except to help explain to you that posts need to go in certain areas to keep continuity and flow.   Thank you for using the quote correctly.  As you can tell, it makes it so much easier to see your responce to the quote.

Oh well Hurlock.   I warned you and you just had to start another pointless thread.

Good Luck elsewhere.

It is what he wanted.  I am sorry but he was about to blame the admin for Kennedy's assassination.  (Sluff, where were you?)
He would blame people for doing things when the fact is that he is technology challenged.
I am sorry to see anyone go wether I liked/agreed with them or not.  I have gained so much from this site.  First and foremost I have gained a wealth of knowledge that has really made a difference in my quality of life on dialysis.  I have been given support and found friendship.  I am sorry that the people who are not with us anymore will no longer have the benefit of this site.  These people who have made the choice to leave or have been told to leave (or made the choice to be told to leave I guess) will be missed in some ways.

I agree with you, YL.  I learned a little bit more about Hurlock earlier today that made me realize he really does need the support of this group.  But he was like a dog with a bone.  Even when the meat had been stripped he just couldn't let it go.
