I would like to ask our community to nominate two things they really miss on our diet restrictions: I really miss chocolate milkshakes and :beer1; a full bottle of beer.

Humble apologies; is it bragging to say I don't miss anything?  On PD I eat and drink what I want.  Heck, I've even increased my cheese and ice cream cuz my phosphorus plunged to 2.2.  Haven't had to take Phoslo in 5 months!

Not that much really... before kidney disease I never ate enough potassium rich foods (never liked bananas, potatoes, oranges, tomatoes... rarely ate fries and preferred pizza and pasta with a white sauce base instead of tomato sauce base).

I guess I do miss unlimited milk and cheese (although I can still have several small servings each day). And I miss eating out and not worrying about salt (I usually try to avoid restaurants without nutrition facts available).

Chips, Mash-Potatoes, Marmite-Sandwiches,

Banana-Milk-Shakes with Vanilla and a little bit of lemon,

Emmentaler-Cheese, Appenzeller-Cheese & Roesti.

(Roesti = fried potatoes mixed with Emmental or Appenzeller Cheese)

and milk, mild and milk again...

I really miss a Route 44 Cherry Limeade from Sonic, Twix & Kitkat candy bars.

I still eat the candy bars. Just not as often as I'd like. As for the Cherry Limeade. I just get a small instead of the massive Route 44 size.

Good point Galvo!  I miss my dad and I would take all my problems over and over if I could get him back. Makes you realise what's important in life.

Hanfy, you are so correct! That's why I have the personal message on all my posts. You can mean a lot those you love, even a stranger. The choice is yours.

So true, Rob.

And although there isn't food I miss because Carl is not on many restrictions, I sure do miss the ability to just pack and go when we travel. Now it is like planning a state visit. LOL!

the good news is that we CAN still travel!  :2thumbsup;
