The 2010 Winter World Transplant Games will take place at the Sainte Foy Tarentaise Resort in Savoie, France from January 17 - 22, 2010. Registration is scheduled to open by the end of September. Until then, we are sharing the details we have been provided thus far.
Competitions include:
Cross Country 5km
Biathlon
Alpine Ski - Slalom, Giant, Super G, Parallel Slalom
Snowboarding
Team Cross Country Relay 3*3km
Team Slalom
Snowshoes 2km
Team Snowshoes Orienteering (3 competitors per team including at least one woman)
One age category has been defined for kids "aged 17 and under". All of the aforementioned events are available for kids.
Cost:
$690 Euros for adults and minors. This includes lodging, onsite transportation, repatriation insurance and ski passes (January 18th through January 22nd). In addition there is a Team USA enrollment fee of $200 for athletes and $50 for supporters. Airfare is not included.
