I just got an email from my PD nurse and she said my adequacy is 1.99 and my phos is up. I am not sure what she means by adequacy and is 1.99 bad??

The phos being up is my fault.....I fell off the wagon more than a few times in taking my binders. I am bad on track though!!   :boxing; :thumbup;

Im not 100% sure?
But i am doing my KT/V tomorrow and if i recall correctly i am hoping it will come back @ about 1.99 or two.  If im right your numbers adequacy at least is solid and good.
Im sure someone will come along and agree or set us both right shortly.

I am not sure...she said she wants me to come in next week because they are going to "adjust" my RX.

I don't know if that is good or bad. I am already doing 9 hours on the machine. Ugh!

Anything under 2.0 is not acceptable at my clinic. Mine is currently 1.89 and they are not happy.

When I told my nurse I wasn't sleeping well...she said something about making me use more dialysis fluid during exchanges.
I already feel like a stuffed pig and now they want to add more fluid.  >:(

My husband has been on hemo for about 6 weeks now and they say he is not doing to good on it. In England they hope for at least 1.25kt/v and his is only .95kt/v or .89 which is not very good. When he was on PD he was doing a lot better and felt a lot better it was up to 2.16kt/v He is hoping to get a new tube fitted in the next 3 weeks.

At my clinic, the adequacy (Kt/V) they want is 2.0 or higher. How much fluid are you using per exchange now? I used to feel full on 1400 (my prescription was 1200) and the adequacy test showed my Kt/V to be around 1.4. Over a few weeks I managed to work my volume up to 2000, and started an evening exchange of 1500. That brought my Kt/V all the way up to 2.14.

If you're at 1.99, it probably won't be hard to go a few tenths of a point higher. Another 100-200 ml per fill could do it, or adding an exchange during the day could do a lot more.
