The only good thing is  on July 30th i'll be in Charleston gettting all my testing done for my transplant evaluation.  I just really dont want my arm cut open again  :banghead;

I take issue with your statement that you have the worst luck in the world.  Can you top this:

Forearm fistula operation April 3.
That fistula clotted by mid-May, and was never usable.

Upper-arm fistula operation July 2.
Fistula exploded later that day, blood flying everywhere.

Revision surgery for that fistula on July 4 (yes, Independence Day, just two days after the previous surgery)

When it is happening to you it is easy to feel that you have no luck. Access surgeries can be very discouraging.  I have 14 incisions in my arm.  All attempts for permanent access.  This last fistula seems to be doing well so far.  But even it has had two  procedures to open it up more, and a reopening of the previous incision in order to tie of a blood vessel that kept bleeding all over me, my bedroom,  my bathroom, as well as  my hospital room.  It hasn't been used yet but hopefully it will be some day.

Take heart and keep plugging away at it.  Good Luck!

I have railroad tracks all over my left arm from graft revisions over the years. Now I have three stents in my arm too. When kids at school ask about it I just tell them I had surgery.
