This happened last Fri and again today. As soon as the tech put in the arterial needle I started to itch. Not a little itch but a big itch. I wanted to pull the needle out. They thought maybe the tape but it never happened before and the venous spot doesn't itch. So they said maybe allergy to the betadine and tomorrow will just use alcohol. It didn't go away until I got home and put caladrill lotion on it. Any ideas?

On a good note I get to start button holes next week :clap;

In another thread or another forum I read about s/o having an allergy to the cartridges.

My husband is sensitive to the Chlorascrub wipes, so we usually use the Betadine instead unless I need to navigate around a pseudo-aneurysm.

It seems that everyone has their own set of medical idiosyncrasies.

I used to itch after using the Chlorascrubs.  My arm was so red and sore!!!  Once I stopped using the Chorascrubs and switched to Betadyne - no more problems.

It only itches where they stick the arterial. That's what has me confused Seems that if it were an allergy the venous would itch too.
