The Lufkin Daily News collected four awards Saturday at the annual Texas Associated Press Managing Editors convention in Austin.
Reporter Jessica Savage won the Star Investigative Report of the Year for her stories on patient deaths at the Lufkin DaVita Dialysis clinic.
Assistant News Editor Stacy Faison won a first place award for headline writing. She previously had won first place awards from APME in both the headline and short feature categories.
Staff writer Steven Alford won an honorable mention in the comment and criticism category.
In the online categories, Denise Hoepfner won second place for best blog.
