WOW, I have to say I am amazed... I probably shouldn't be the internet is a young tool I guess. But I am the youngest in my unit (of course I live in Florida where the old come from all around to retire) at 37 as of July. I started dialysis when I was 26 after about 3 moths of getting sick, tired and feeling really crappy they did some blood tests and called me the next day to have 2 blood transfusions and get a cath for dialysis ASAP! I was healthy as a horse until that point in my life. I had dreams of being a pro-football player even went to college on a scholarship but it did not work out. Everyone in college was much better and bigger then me!!!
lost last kidney in april 06 .went straight to dialysis the next day. They said he has to wait 5 years to get a transplant.(cause of the cancer)We live in Florida too-and I look around the unit and its mostly senior citizens (very cranky ones too)my husband is 49
