Hi all,

I wanted to follow protocol and take a few minutes to introduce myself.

My name is Jimmy and I work at a Dialysis Clinic in Tennessee as the IT Director.  Up until a couple months ago, I had no idea what Dialysis was.

Since then, partly as my job and partly as a personal mission. I'm working to make life easier and more tolerable for our patients and staff through technology.

Some of the things I'm working on:

Remote monitoring for the Gambro Phoenix, NxStage, and Baxter PD machines.... Mission control style for a nurse.
Automated vital/monitoring collection and reporting.... No more flow sheets for the home patient
Developing a new EMR system that enforces safe and effective treatment by staff for patients
Data coorelation for access/machine monitoring with treatments for the physicians to review the effectiveness of treatments and prescriptions.
Customer Service training for the in center staff.

I hope to learn a lot from all of you and hopefully offer some my expertise when appropriate.

Good goals.  Also- efficient, fast, secure internet access for patients- it's really helpful for those of us who are still working.

Hi Jimmy!

Remote monitoring for NxStage would be awesome!!! I am a technical nerd as well and would love to help. I have NxStage at home and am currently writing an Access database that will log all the charting that needs to be done. As soon as that is done, I was going to look into pulling logs from the Jewel Box.

Love to chat!

Welcome to our community!  IHD welcomes with open arms everyone who has anything whatsoever to do with this renal challenge!  And I think you are a first in our community - the high-tech division!!  Your joining us shows your concern for the patients and so we applaud you.  This is much more that a website here - we have become a real family.  You will see it as you hang around us.  So keep reading and post often.  Feel free to ask questions (but not in this section!).
