Home from the Hospital Tuesday- Back Friday night

My mom was in the hospital from Jan 6th to Feb 4th. Friday night she fell trying to get into her hospital bed so we made another trip to the ER. The paramedics did what they call a scoop and load with her because they were afraid that she had several broken bones. By the time I made it to the hospital she was in x-ray already. The good news is that she did not break anything major. She might have a cracked rib but they would not do anything for it. The bad news is that she has more pain than if something was broken.
Is it really bad when even the kitchen help recognize you and greet you by your first name?

Sorry to hear about your mom. Hope she feels better soon.
I am all to familiar with the hospital staff knowing me by first name and the coffee house there knowing what I like and having it ready when I step up. Problem is, I have no idea what their names are, I can't remember all of them. From registration, ER, pretty much most of the hospital floors, and cleaning crew know me. I wish I had a speed pass/ID badge when I go there

I have been known by a first name basis when I cared for my Parents. I hope she heals quickly and I'm sorry she had fallen.

When I lived in Phoenix I was well known by the nurses and other staff on the medical wards of one particular hospital. I actually enjoyed knowing so many of them. It made my many hospital stays a lot better. Then I was sent into the hospital by ambulance from my dialysis center a few times. I ended up in another hospital and I really missed what I felt like was my hospital and my people. Now I am in another city. I have been lucky and have not spent a night in a hospital since I have been here. I know if I do end up in the hospital I will again miss my hospital and staff.
I hope your mom heals fast, and I hope she enjoys knowing so many people on the staff!

I had a nurse in the ER recognize me and offer to pray with me one night in the ER. She worked the out patient side of ER and as just passing through that night.

I did not even connect this until I started reading your replies. In the past we always used a big medical center. I spent so much time there that I learned all of the short cuts around the building. I even looked like an employee and would get the employee discount when I went to the cafeteria.

I hope your mom is doing better. Hospital stays are never a lot of fun but like we all know, when you're there that often and know people, it makes it a little easier.
During my mom's extended stays in the hospital, we got to know the nurses very well on floor 3 (the floor my mom always went to). And also, so many of the other staff....like the parking lot attendants, a few cafeteria people, and security guards. It was nice to be able to go there and have a friendly face there that would always wish you well and ask how everything was. Of course when you know hospital staff that well, things aren't going too great, are they.

We are at Sky Ridge. Mom had dialysis this morning and we are now waiting for the all clear to go home. Last time it was about 4PM before they let us out of here.
