Choose diffrent themes!

OK what I would like is a setting to choose a diffrent forum theme where we can maybe choose from 4 diffrent themes. The one now is great and all but sometimes I come here to get away from all the dialysis and kidney stuff and go straight to off topic section. I have never made a Forum Theme of any kind if it's too hard to make then just close this topic.

OK I'll try to explain it a little, some forum boards have a option where u can choose the Theme or Skin of how that forum looks so let's say standard is pink, some people don't like pink so they can change the color to black, blue or yellow. What I would like to know is if this is possible to change the skin here or if the admin (Epoman) could add this function.

Instead of a bunch of Kidneys next to all the topics there would be a cat for example^^

Well, I like having the option of changing themes if I get bored of the default.  But in all honesty, the default skin is the easiest to read.

Oh ok.  For some reason, I thought it would involve changing the subject matter that you see. LOL  The COLORS are what you want to change.  One board I went to changed the colors/scheme every season.  I wouldn't care I guess.

Yes, it is possible to allow members to change themes, currently I believe I have "changing themes" disabled. I just not have had the time to create new themes, however if a member wishes to create a new theme I would upload it and enable members to "change themes".

What SpeedFleX is talking about is the site would have different colors and graphics, it could look totally different or just a little. Some sites offer many themes to choose from, but as I said I have just been so busy. But if someone wants to step up. Let me know.

I could do basic other colour schemes if it just entails new graphics and basic colour html. I mean, I don't know what new themes entail but I do know what they are.

I'm not sure but if this board is anything like phpbb, phpbb2 or invasion boards then new themes would be like addon modules.  This board does have a mysql database, doesn't it?

Yes of course we use a SQL DB, and yes themes come in modules or packages but there are ways to create themes with having to package it in a module.  It just takes modifying a few files, and adding some new images.

I don't know if I really have the time. I didn't realize it was all that. I can do graphics and that is really all. Plus the hospital has really stressed me out tonight so I need to go smash something and throw something. Not really a good mood for creating

It's okay.  I don't really know just how much work it will take either because I have never actually "made" a forum theme myself.  Only windoes themes.  I do know a litte sheet styles, a little php and some html but I can't do the graphics.  But it's not like I have much time to make forum themes anyway.

Doesn't all these options your talking about take up more bandwidth? Bandwith cost money, I don't know anything about websites.

Yes sluff.  Creating new themes can increase bandwidth usage but not really much more then the addition of images allowed by the forum for avatars and personal images or even small files.  Even additional posts in a thread can aid in higher bandwidth usage so this is all a matter of, how much bandwidth is allotted per month and how much is the site using in that time frame?
