The National Kidney Foundation of the National Capital Area's 28th Annual Kidney Ball Featuring Entertainment by The Doobie Brothers

Event Raises Over $1.2 Million Annually to Aid in the Fight Against Kidney Disease

The following was issued today by the National Kidney Foundation of the National Capital Area:
WHO: More than 1,100 of the Washington area's business, government, health, and community leaders.
WHAT: The 2008 Kidney Ball will feature entertainment The Doobie Brothers. Guests will also enjoy cocktails, dinner, silent and live auctions, and dancing.
WHEN: Saturday, November 22, 2008
6:30 p.m. - Midnight
WHERE: The Hilton Washington
1919 Connecticut Avenue, NW
Washington, DC
WHY: The Washington, DC area leads the nation in the prevalence of kidney disease, with more than 500,000 people affected, 5,800 on dialysis, and 1,700 waiting for a life-saving kidney transplant. The Kidney Ball is the National Kidney Foundation's largest one-day fundraiser, raising funds to support medical research, patient and community services, professional education, and organ donation awareness in the DC region.
TICKETS: Individual tickets for the Kidney Ball are $300 per person and $600 per couple. A variety of sponsorship opportunities are also available. For additional information please visit our website, www.kidneywdc.org.

Jenna is our daughter, bad bladder damaged her kidneys.
Was on in-center hemodialysis 2003-2007.
7 yr transplant lost due to rejection.
She did PD Sept. 2013 - July 2017

New kidney in a paired donation swap July 26, 2017.

Now only if it were affordable to people. It's a great event but I would never be able to attend.

Fundraisers like this are usually attended by people who can afford to drop some cash for a good cause.
Let's invite the Doobie Brothers to our next member meet up and see if they will come - for free.
