I have been a long time reader of the forums, but finally decided to join because I wanted to get involved and also I have a few questions. Here is a little bit about me.
I am 28 years old, am married, and have two children (four and eight years of age). I have Stage V FSGS with little to no residual kidney function left. I was born with a defect of the ureters which caused Stage V reflux of urine on both sides. Once I began to be potty trained, the urine backed up from my bladder into both kidneys. I had some sort of an infection, it backed up into my kidneys, and caused scarring. The scarring slowly took over my kidneys, I lost function, and started dialysis in September 2013.
I did In-Center Hemo for a while before switching to Home Hemo on NxStage. I have been on NxStage for a while now and really like it. I have no plans to ever go back In-Center if I can help it.

Welcome, chuckdims! You certainly have your hands full with 2 kids and doing home-hemo. Kudos! Staying active and keeping busy probably helps your overall health. My husband does home-hemo using the NxStage cycler and works fulltime. We started the day after Christmas last year. So far, so good. Good luck to you!

Husband had ESRD with Type I Diabetes -Insulin Dependent.
I was his care-partner for home hemodialysis using Nxstage December 2013-July 2016.
He went back to doing in-center July 2016.
After more than 150 days of being hospitalized with complications from Diabetes, my beloved husband's heart stopped and he passed away 06-08-21. He was only 63.
