would anyone know if loganberries  be ok to eat with ckd ???

Did you watch Doctor Oz too???    I plan to ask my transplant team at my next appt.

Transplanted 1/6/11 (Chain Transplant My altruistic donor was  "Becky from Chicago" , and DH Mike donated on my behalf and the chain continued...)

81 Calories

213 mg Potassium

38.2 mg Phosphorus

I'd say this is one of the best fruits you could eat on a renal diet... go for it

May 13, 2009, went to urgent care with shortness of breath
May 19, 2009, went to doctor for severe nausea
May 20, 2009, admited to hospital for kidney failure
May 20, 2009, started dialysis with a groin cath
May 25, 2009, permacath was placed
august 24, 2009, was suppose to have access placement but instead was admited to hospital for low potassium
august 25, 2009, access placement
January 16, 2010 thrombectomy was done on access

ligon- you can usually find them made into jam-although after Dr Oz had them on his show- everywhere around me sold out for a few weeks.lol

Oh sorry, I've never heard of Ligonberries only know about Loganberries which you can find in the grocery store with the jams and jellies like Blackberries and Raspberries jams and jellies.

Lingonberries are small, red, edible berries that
grow on a perennial, woody, evergreen shrub
with a low growth habit.  They are related to
both blueberries and cranberries. The first fruit
ripens in mid-summer, around July, and the
second crop ripens in late September to early
November. Lingonberries are native to
Scandinavia, Alaska, and northeastern Canada.
They are similar to cranberries but not quite as
tart and they make great jam, jelly, juice, sauce,
wine and liqueur.

Here we call them partridgeberries.  They are very high in antioxidants.  Make fantastic jam, pies and wine!!  They are best when picked after a frost.  I have put them in water and made juice.
