Me with Baron von Fresenius

« on: June 19, 2009, 09:40:40 PM »

Today me, my nurse, and the NxStage sales rep for our region did a presentation to a group of social workers with the National Kidney Foundation about the benefits of short-daily dialysis with NxStage. I gave my own little speech which lasted about 15 min where I described my personal experience with NxStage and how it has improved my life. The social workers that we were presenting this to had all heard of NxStage, but most didn't know anything about it. By the end of our presentation, they were riveted, and they were asking all kinds of questions about NxStage. I love the opportunity to advocate home dialysis to both patients and professionals. I'm not really a good speaker, but despite this being my first ever public speech, all of my nervousness went away when I started talking, and everything turned out well. Now I'm looking forward to being able to do things like this in the future.

That's great Adam. I always thought your videos were also very well done. Maybe you can combine some ideas and create a good informational video too.

Fantastic Adam and I bet that you're a better public speaker than you think you are, especially when talking about something so important that you know so much about.

Great!  Advocating for something in which you believe so strongly must have been a very gratifying experience.  I'll bet your audience gained a great deal of useful information and, hopefully, they will continue to spread the word.   :2thumbsup;
