Tell Your Senators to Co-Sponsor the Organ Donation Clarification Act!
Legislation Will Allow Creation of Incentive Programs for Living Organ Donation

More than 99,000 individuals currently wait for an organ transplant. Of those, at least 77,000 are waiting for kidneys -- with more than 5,000 of those being PKD patients. Eleven people die every day waiting for a kidney transplant.

Senator Arlen Specter (R-PA) will introduce the Organ Donation Clarification and Anti-Trafficking Act during the lame duck session of the 110th Congress.  This legislation would clarify that Federal and state governments can offer innovative incentive programs to encourage more living organ donation. The bill also increases the penalties for those convicted of offering direct cash payments for organs.

This legislation has the endorsement of the PKD Foundation, the American Medical Association, the American Association of Kidney Patients and American Society of Transplantation.

It's very simple to do.  Just follow the link given below and it will take you to an online form.

As for me, I'll borrow this thought: "Having never experienced kidney disease, I had no idea how crucial kidney function is to the rest of the body." - KD
