Title: back in hospital again
Post by: billybags on June 26, 2012, 01:50:16 AM
Well here we are again, hubby back in hospital, had to call the paramedics yesterday morning. He had pains in chest and arms and his heart rate was sky high, his breathing was terriable.. At the moment he is a bone, between the renal, respiratory , and cardiac. The respiratory says the pluradosis he had last week has not worked ,  the cardiac says they don't know if he has had a small heart attack, They have started him on warfarin and a tablet to protect his stomach against all the tablets. Having more tests to day, his heart, what is left of it is still racing like mad, so is frigging mine.. keep us in your thoughts .

BB - I'm sorry the procedure did not work, and that your husband is still in such pain and distress.  I hope they get everything sorted out in the hospital.  Watching a loved one suffer is frightening and emotionally draining.  I hope you have someone close to surround you with love and support.  Please keep us updated as you are able.   :cuddle;

Well hubby came out of hospital yesterday, they have put him on "rat poison"  Warfarin and to-morrow we have to go to another hospital, that is a pain in the butt to get too, it is on the other side of the city, we have to go to  a coagular clinic.to get the ins and outs of this. Tomorrow is bad because we have the Olympic torch coming through the city and all the main roads are being closed for three hours, including the ones we need. Is any one on warfarin, if so how are you getting on with it.? Apart from that he is glad to be home.

Blokey has been on warfarin since May 2009.  He briefly came off it but immediately ended up with blood clots again, so he's on it for life; he has very sticky blood apparently.  He's fine with it, although the monthly trips to the anti-coag clinic frustrate him.  He knows more about warfarin than the docs at Hospital ... when he had to come off it for the transplant someone told him to take a certain amount and he insisted it wasn't the correct loading dose.  He was right and his levels were completely unchanged two days later so Sexy Neph told him to take the loading dose he thought he should take.  We like Sexy Neph; he's one of the only Nephs who listens and recognises that Blokey knows his own body pretty well.

Pleased hubby is home ... can you not see an anti-coag nurse at your GPs surgery rather than have to traipse across town?  Regardless, I hope the stress of getting there isn't too bad. (You're not flooded are you?  It's been really hot here and so I was surprised when I saw that it's been raining heavily and causing floods elsewhere in England.  ;D)

*huggles*

Glad he's home, at least.  Try not to succumb to road rage!

Hi Poppy, managed to get to the hospital in plenty of time .As it was our first go we had to watch a video and then have the prick test, we have to go next Tuesday because the levels were high.The coag nurse said she would transfer him to our GP when he is stable. So it was out of that hospital and away to the unit on the other side of Nottingham because he had fibrin in his bags this morning. God I hate frigging hospitals, I feel like I am living at them lately.  I want to stamp and scream. :Kit n Stik; :Kit n Stik;

billybags , so sorry to hear of all this , I too hate hospitals ! I hope things are improving . My Mum was on Warfarin for years - she had to have regular blood tests to check the dose and she was limited with other medications as there are a lot of things you can't take while on Warfarin . Apart from this it did not cause any other problems . Good wishes coming your way .

As it was our first go we had to watch a video ...
There's a video?! I don't think Blokey has ever been honoured with the watching of a video.

Poppy it was  nothing exciting, just about what you should and shouldn't do. One good thing that came out of it was "we bought a GO-GO elite scooter" on our way home. I have been on to him for months because he has been practically house bound. It is one you can put in the boot, you have to brake it down, I should have musculs like super woman, so we brought it home. Can not get him off it, he went shopping yesterday, nearly knocked the daughter down, saw lots of his friends, he buggered off this morning. Wondering if I did the right thing now. Only joking. Hope you two are keeping fine.
