Got my blood results today. My PTH level, that was around 3500 back in September, this month, is 147.5 (150-500) Phosphorus was 3.1 (3.5-5.5), and it was said that if it’s low next month, they’ll talk to the doctor about lowering the number of pills I need to take. Calcium was a little high (8.4-10.2, mine was 10.7) , so they lowered the meds for that.
All in all, this has really been the best month for my levels. It’s also the first time my PTH and phosphorus have been low.

Way to go....
How did you bring down your PTH?

Been taking Sensipar as prescribed and watching my phosphorus intake. :)

Ah....Sensipar! :2thumbsup; That worked for my husband, but not for his sister.
I'm glad that did the trick for you! Hubby had to take Hectoral, too.
They never let his levels get too high, though.
:waving;

J just started Sensipar! Hoping it helps him too!
Congrats on your levels. Very good job!

Hi, Gang.
My PTH levels were high and seemingly out of control for a long time. The docs increased my Sensipar to 90mg/day and then again to 120mg/day. It got my PTH lowered but also dropped my calcium. They thought it was non-compliance with the binders that was causing to Ca to drop and PO4 to rise. Once they dropped my Sensipar to 60mg, both my Ca and PO4 became normal numbers. Any of you experience this?

Holy Cow 3500! How in the heck did you get it soo high??? Yikes I thought 1400 was high. Did they make you remove your Parathryoid glands?
Curious....what binders are you on or how much do you take?

I'm not really sure, actually. I didn't even know it was a concern until my kidneys actually failed. Nope, still have the glands. I take Phoslo, 2 with meals, and 1 with snacks..dropped down from 3 with meals, and 2 with snacks.
