I love Swedish Fish ... but they eventually pulled out a filling, so the price wasn't worth it. :'(
-
Yeah, I had to stop eating them too, but they are gooooood!
-
Nilla wafers
Fig Newtons
MetRx bar
graham crackers
-
Y'all go for sweet snacks; I go for salty! Chips are my fav, then popcorn and stuff like that. I'm addicted to salt! LOL

can't have all the salt :( or the potatoes :(
-
uh oh, snacks. If my dietician reads this I'm dead. >:D :lol;
cheetos, funyons, cinnamon graham crackers, saltines w/ pb&j, animal crackers (sadly w/out frosting) goldfish crackers, chocolate teddy grahams, nilla wafers....oh who am i kidding, the whole chip and cookie isle. :o >:D
except i did cut out potato chips.....
-
I gave up my favorite chips- Doritos- becasue last time I ate them I threw them back up. Yuck! Have not touched them since. Lays potato chips did the same thing to me. I do not touch them anymore. It is hard for me to touch potato chips anymore because I threw them up a couple of times. I HATE to throw up! So the chip aisle is pretty much off my list. Now cookies are another story. I can eat cookies and crackers until the cows come home.
Questions: Are Rye Krisp crackers high in potassium or phosphorous? I love the way they taste!
-
Ouch - this is per cracker according to Nutrition Data website
Phosphorus 67.2 mg
Potassium 79.8 mg
-
Rule of thumb. If it is good, then it is high in Phosphorous and Potassium.
-
Says no food and smoking in my unit. Its probably better that way. More food in your GI most likely bring down your pressure or can even make you nauseous.
-
WHen I was on dialysis I used to snack on Saltine Crackers (but the low-salt or non-salted topps), idunno why but I just couldnt stop eating those things, :lol;
-
I am addicted to bagels and cream cheese. :2thumbsup; I love chips and salsa, hell, salsa on anything. It's been really hard for me to give up the salty stuff too. The extra fluid is starting to really bother me so I am getting a lot better.
-
I just had buttered toast with cinnamon sugar. Other things I like are
cereal
biscuits with a cup of coffee
crackers with cheese and tomato mustard pickles
iced coffee
vegemite toast or crackers
grapes
yoghurt with a handful of pecan nuts
chocolate snack pack
shapes with dip
sourdough cheese twists
-
I am addicted to the low-sodium saltines, too, angela515. I swear I would starve without them. Pathetic, I know. Bread sticks ... those really thin crisp ones flavored with rosemary or garlic ... sugar cookies ... Milanos ... rice krispie treats ... Cocoa Puffs ... Kix ... unsalted pretzels. Buttered toast ... that very thin Pepperidge Farm bread toasted w/ real unsalted butter.
Mmmm ... cinnamon toast ... thanks, panda for makin' me hungry now.

Honeycomb cereal goes in a baggie to dialysis with me as a snack.
-
My dialysis snack is Bear Naked granola and dried cherries. I don't have potassium problems, so dried fruit is still one of my favorite munchies.

;D
On my recent trip for Tx workup I had little baggies of honeynut cheerios. My family just gave me strange looks for carrying it.
-
my recent snack of choice is froot loops-dry and life cereal-dry. i'll take it in a baggy to dialysis and leave it in my car for a after treatment snack. and it helps me stay awake on the drive home. :popcorn;

:bunny: Davita's snakes seem to be hard and tasteless
I like a glass of unsweet tea with lemon ----- Until I watched the video on lemons in a restaurant now forget the lemon
I like little bowls of hot and sour soup
the yogurt treat thing at McD's
EDITED: Fixed smiley tag error-kitkatz,moderator
-
:shy; :oops; Davita snacks not snakes
in Durango they serve you snacks --- grape juice, cranberry juice, apple juice
graham crackers, unsalted saltines and some kind of fish shaped crackers, hard no sugar candies and a ton of ice, tea, coffee and water
-
twirl, maybe they really are snakes. i take a protine bar and some fruit to every treatment. but then i don't call it a snack, i call it breakfast.
-
Unfortunately, in NJ no food is allowed in the treatment area of any dialysis unit. This is NJ Department of Health regulation, not the dialysis center's rule. :'(
-
I usually take a sandwich, some sort of fruit pie, and a Sprite. I consider it lunch since my session starts at 11:30.
-
Pretzel rods dipped in cottage cheese. I use the rod as a "spoon" and eat the small mini pack of cottage cheese. The salt doesn't bother me and I can do small amounts of cheese.
