I remember a few years ago there was a topic on the best hamburgers....I think Goofynina started it... anyway my favorite was always IN-N-OUT when growing up in California many years ago. Two weeks ago when I was out there visiting my family, which I had a very good time, we visited IN-N-OUT and I have discovered that it was not as good as I remember it. I think that growing up it was one of the first fast food burgers you could get but now there are so many places I can't consider it my favorite anymore. Just an insite, anyone have any thoughts on this or a favorite burger they prefer. :twocents;

I've always wanted to go to in-n-out at LAX. Planes and burgers.... *drool*

I think I liked the fries and shakes best at in-and-out. The hamburgers are good too, and I liked the atmosphere where the kids working are all dressed in white with the hats.
Since Washington State doesn't have In-and-out I'll have to say I eat at Zip's a lot. They have non-dairy milk shakes and ice cream and they will make me a small fry with no salt and the burgers are good. Plus at the grocery store on the back of every receipt is a coupon for Zip's. Oh, and they have napkins on every table which is rare anywhere else and cups for all the ketchup, tarter and fry sauce you want and hand sanitizer at the front counter.
Next would be Arby's then Wendy's. :beer1;

My best burger is the one I make at home...extra lean ground beef (grass fed and no antibiotics or growth hormones) fresh parsley, freshly ground black pepper, no salt, egg to bind the meat, usually no fillers but if I need to stretch the meat a bit I use multigrain cracker crumbs. Sliced vidalia onion, fresh sliced tomatoes, Bibb lettuce...all on a grilled-on-one-side multigrain bun. If people want cheese with that (although I see no need myself) it would be 5 year old aged cheddar hand sliced super thinly.
Add a big big salad and there's dinner.

There are now three Five Guys Burgers an Fries in Washington state. If you ever get over to Seattle, try out the one at Northgate, and see how it works for you.

Okay...You have to know how to order at In-n-out. Google the secret menu. I always order Protein style and the fries well done.

The other day my sister made home made burgers for a family meal(yum) except she got a bit when I took out the tomato, and the cheese from the burger she'd made up.... *sigh*

now the only thing missing is a pickle- other then that, this is my perfect burger too! I hate greasy. One time I made my burger, forgot the meat, but had extra tomato and vidalias and mustard, and didnt notice until my fourth or fith bite!

Five Guys Burgers and Fries is great. I get them with lettuce, onions and mustard. It makes for a fairly low sodium meal at about 430mg for the regular hamburgers.
