Alan had to have a pre - op Monday so they can sort his catheter out because it has been positioned too high and draining out takes ages. He is back on to CAPD. They are also going to give him another fistula at the same time. He already has had three and they have not worked. To cut to the chase they found a heart murmur, he had to have 2 days of Nuclear scanning and the down side is, his heart is very badly damaged from a heart attack 2 years ago. There is nothing they can do, it is his heart muscle that is not pumping very well, so he would need a heart transplant. "fat chance". He really does not need this, I do not need this. It is shi*. I really thought 2010 would be a better year for us after the shi* we had last year, but no. His operations will go through week after next because it is just a local anesthetic. Had to vent this gang sorry.

Vent away, all you need to vent. Sorry you guys have had so many problems. :grouphug; :grouphug;
-
Oh, Billybags, what a bummer :thumbdown;
No, you don't need this, but I have a feeling you will chin up and carry on.
:grouphug;
-
Vent away - That is a rotten way to kick off 2010. :( Hugs.
-
Dont know what to say ... :cuddle; I was hoping one of us would have a better year :(
-
billybags, wait a second. Maybe 2010 won't be a piece of cake but it's still got a chance to be a better year than 2009. Right now things aren't looking so good but it's only January. There's still time for it to get better. Whatever it ends up like, though, I know you will take it as it comes and fight through it.
I'm sending you a big hug! :cuddle;
-
Sorry to read of this nasty news and you will both be in my thoughts. :cuddle; I do hope that the surgeries go OK.
-
Yeah. Plenty of time for the year to get better.
-
Billybags, if it's any consolation, my PD catheter placement didn't go well either. They knew I had peritonitis recently so they went in laparascopically and saw so much scarring that they aborted the insertion of the PD cath so I'm staying on hemo. PD sucks anyway, peritonitis is hella painful and dangerous. But I did feel better on it while it was working. Has anyone talked to you about possible home hemo on NxStage?

:cuddle; Vent anytime you like. That's what we are here for!! I'll be thinking of you. :cuddle;

Sorry to hear this, Billybags. :( I'm holding out hope that you and Alan catch a break soon. :grouphug;

Thanks guys, I feel a bit better to-day. The heart specialist said "If I had not told you , you would not have known about it" Why the fu** did he tell us. We are not going to buy any thing with a 10 year guarantee now. As you say take each day as it comes. Thanks
-
We are all on a carousel. Do we hold on to the reins or just let go and see what happens?
-
Sounds like the nasty fairy has targeted a bunch of us IHD people! Many of us have said 2010 has pretty well sucked so far.
-
Sorry about your problems, billy.
I do hope things are getting better for you and Alan.
Best wishes from Kristina.

So sorry to hear of this Billybags. Gosh you guys have had so many things go wrong lately. Well, this is the last of it then and youre lives are now going to improve. Rant any time you want, we are here to listen and console.
-
Billybags it all seems so unfair. But life isn't fair so we just have to keep on keeping on. I pray the operations go well and that things ease up for you and hubby.
Love Mimi

Sorry billybags, I've only just read this. I shall now retire to a soundproof room to scream on your behalf ... hope things start looking up for you soon.
*hugs*
-
Poppy, I hope you screamed really loud for me.
-
Sometimes we have to beat the year with our stick to get it to behave! :Kit n Stik;
I hope things get better real soon!

So far 2010 has sucked big time!
I lost my cell phone, all my numbers, still haven't got a new one, using my hubby's for now.
Brakes went out on my car, front and back $$$.
Battery died on my daughter's car, got a new one. The one on my Chevy now also had to be replaced.
Of course, Jenna's kidney rejection is a really sad event.
Today my digital camera stopped working, it's 3 years old. It's my source of creativity and relaxation, and now I have to send it somewhere to be check out.
I'm going to bed.

Remember Hee Haw and the song "If it weren't for bad luck I'd have no luck at all. Gloom, despair and misery on end"?
Cheer up folks (he said after a few days of depression). It would be worse. My car is so old when I want to stop I just drag my feet on the ground.
-
Think I would go to bed too okarol. Remember things can nly get so bad and then they have to start getting better! :cuddle;
-
:bestwishes; Karol. Things might be upsetting but they sometimes lead to possitive thihgs. Sorry to learn about Jenn's kidney. But, you still have her and that's the important thing.
