I have had 2 fistuals-neither one worked
I have had 2 grafts the last one finally "took"
I had 3 different catheters from Nov. 06 - Dec. 08
Got on the transplant list - Halloween Day 2008

You can easily judge the character of others by how they treat those who they think can do nothing for them.    I BELIEVE THIS TO BE SOOOOO TRUE!

almost daily ------ aren't pinto beans a food group  ----  add some bacon and onions and you have a complete meal   ( with after dinner music)

when was the last time you went to eat and you ordered blackeye peas and the waiter said they were fresh but you could tell they were from the can

   -glaucoma and surgery for that
     -cataract surgery twice on same eye (2000 - 2002). another one growing in good eye
     - vitrectomy in good eye post tx November 2003, totally blind for 4 months due to complications with meds and infection

Chris, you kinda messed up the flow here! So let me back up to the question...

Ordering blackeye peas in NY is about impossible...finding them
in a supermarket is CLOSE to impossible.  And they are ALL canned.


When was the last time you celaned out the junk drawer in your house?

Just yesterday, I cleaned out four junk drawers.  All of mine are pretty junky and I'm trying to get the house transplant ready.


When was the last time you bought a new stove and fridge?    (I just bought new ones today after 25 years with the old ones).

Home haemo 1980-1985 (self-cannulated with 15 gauge sharps)
Cadaveric transplant 1985
New upper-arm fistula April 2008
Uldall-Cook catheter inserted May 2008
Haemo-dialysis, self care unit June 2008
(2 1/2 hours X 5 weekly)
Self-cannulated, 15 gauge blunts, buttonholes.
Living donor transplant (sister-in law Kathy) Feb. 2009
First failed kidney transplant removed Apr.  2009
Second trx doing great so far...all lab values in normal ranges

06/85 Diagnosed with type 1 Diabetes
10/04 Radical Nephrectomy (Kidney Cancer or renal cell carcinoma)
02/08 Started Hemodialysis
04/08 Started Peritoneal Dialysis (CAPD)
05/08 Started CCPD (my cycler: The little box of alarms)
07/09 AV Fistula and Permacath added, PD catheter removed. PD discontinued and Hemodialysis resumed
08/09 AV Fistula redone higher up on arm, first one did not work
07/11 Mass found on remaining kidney
08/11 Radical Nephrectomy, confirmed that mass was renal cell carcinoma
12/12 Whipple, mass on pancreas confirmed as renal cell carcinoma

• I'm not a complete Idiot -- some parts are missing.

I pet my pooch multiple times a day.  Rex is spoiled worse
than any child/spouse/sig other, he's my baby!!!  All 90 lbs
of him!

Jenna is our daughter, bad bladder damaged her kidneys.
Was on in-center hemodialysis 2003-2007.
7 yr transplant lost due to rejection.
She did PD Sept. 2013 - July 2017

Beginning of October.  Last BBQ of the year.  Had T-Bones and chicken breasts.  Cooking is done till next year :-)...........For me that is.

Honestly... I really can not remember. It would have to be before I had my daughter almost 15 years ago. Now I sleep with a F@#$%^^ machine that beeeeeeps all night.

Ohhh now I'm depressed I really would love to just sleep.
