One of mine is in surgery right now to have bladder stones removed. I think I'm just as nervous about trying to give her pills for the next couple of weeks as I am about the surgery. Miss Eliza isn't one of those cute, friendly kitties. The vet refused to do the surgery a couple of weeks ago because they would've had to keep her for four days while I was out of town. They said "it's this cat, right?" When I confirmed which cat it is, they said they'd rather wait until I got back than try to handle her themselves for four days. I was cursing because it meant *I'd* have to handle those extra four days of meds myself! Miss Kitty is on the large side, and she knows very well how to use her teeth and claws. I'm praying that whatever med they give her is tasteless when crushed into tuna.

Second trx doing great so far...all lab values in normal ranges

I have only one little kitty. And 2 butthead dogs.
How do I get the dogs to stop enjoying kitty treats from the kitty litter box before I get a chance to scoop out the box? Any suggestions?

Can you elevate the cat pan? Put it up high enough that the cat can jump into and out of it, but the dogs can't reach?

I was thinking of putting it in the bathtub so the dogs couldn't get to it. (Obviously we never use that bathtub.) I just havcen't done it yet because I just brought her home and she is just getting used to the litter box. I want to get her trained using it before I make her jump through hoops to get to it.

Flip, I can top you by one. I have 5 cats (and 2 dogs). Mbarra, It's really expensive, but I bought a Litter Robot and love it. NOT the Littermaid -- that's a piece of trash. The Litter Robot is only available online and it really works!!!! It keeps the dogs out of the crunchies (mostly). I did see my dachshund trying to craw into it once, but since it scoops itself about 5 minutes after a cat uses it, I call it a success. our dogs love "Kitty" treats too and it is a lot cheaper than having to buy treats recycle go green ( joking ) I think the tub idea is great Sad Sack will not go near our bathtubs she hates water Yogi usually stays outside FlipBob------ I want to know the names of your cats------ don't you also have a dog? Cujo? |
