Hi everyone, I haven't been around much. Our household is falling apart. Len has been in the hospital again with stomach problems, it seems he is on this every 3 weeks schedule with this. Did go to DC for his checkup (10 months) with transplant center and they are hoping that in September when they stop the Valycte that it's going to help this situation. God, I hope so. I got a telephone call from my girlfriends daughter Sunday morning that CJ passed away Saturday from bone cancer (CJ's husband David passed away last fall from MRSA). CJ was by my side when Len was at the worst in 2001. Then to add more to my plate I had another bout with vertigo and our doctor is going to send me to a ears, nose and throat specialist. Something about my tube being too small. I was scared to death driving to the hospital because the world was moving like I was drunk. Doctor has me on some pretty strong meds and they flushed my ears that seem to help some (hurt like hell when they were doing it). Then there is our 15 year old cat (Mouse), she has lost about 6 pounds in just a couple of weeks, wouldn't eat, drink and howled 24/7 and acted like she was whacked out on something. I finally got her to the vet yesterday knowing in my heart that I was probably going to have her put to sleep. Well, the Vet checked her from top to bottom and said she is having thyroid problems. They took labs and injected some vitamins and fluid into her and said they have lab results back Monday. Bought her home and she is acting like a normal cat (sleeping in a box beside me right now). I sat in the Vets office and bawled. I should of taken her sooner, but I have had my hands full with Len and myself, and thank God our Vet knows the story and was very understanding. Why is it that sometimes you just feel like the whole world is crashing down on you. Len was getting really depressed but seems to snap out of it when I got sick. Our riding lawnmower died last weekend and he has been trying to charge battery but it was having none of it so he went to Walmart and bought a new one and we are now back in the lawn mowing business. For the first time in 10 months, he was dressed every single day this week. We had doctors appointment Monday and Walmart, doctors on Wednesday and yesterday and then to the Vet yesterday and he went grocery shopping on Tuesday and Thursday he went to get a haircut. This morning he said he feels emotionally spent, so do I actually. He asked me to please not schedule anything for the coming week. I told him I would try. I got email from Karol and twirl checking on us and get on here this morning and find out that it is going to take me weeks to catch up on all the posts. Slow down you guys, you are making me dizzy with all this reading. It's good to be back you guys, I have missed you. Have a great weekend and try to stay cool.  :cuddle;

You have been missed!   You certainly are dealing with too many things.  Maybe one day the world will slow down. In the meantime, sending you lots of good thoughts and love :grouphug;

Sending lots of good thoughts and waves of peace your way. Hope Len feels better a lot and keeps on getting dressed and getting moving. You remember to take care of you a lot now.

Praying that you can find solace in each other. Look for the simple beauty in your surroundings. I wish I had a cat - purring should be available on CD! What a unique and cute name for a cat - Mouse. take care

W&W.  Thank goodness you're back.  I was wondering about you and Len, and the menagerie too of course.  Sounds like you've been going through far too much and I hope that your household is now entering a new phase of calm.  "Excitement" can be quite over-rated.  Hugs to you both.

willieandwinnie,
Your house sounds like mine -- when it rains here, it pours!  I, too, get the feeling that it's one crisis after another (sometimes, the second crisis comes before the first one's over).  My heart just aches for Len -- he's had such a time!  But, he's like Marvin; when I get sick, overwhelmed, maxed out, Marvin somehow pulls through and carries us both for a little while (even if he's not really up to it).  If nothing else, Len is one tough cookie!

Speaking of tough cookies, you're not so bad yourself!  I don't know how you manage to do all you do and still remain sane (but, then, I'm doing it too, and, hell, I don't know how I do it, either  :rofl; ).  Around here, I just take one day at the time.  What do I HAVE to do today to make it through?  You probably do the same.  Hang in there, girl!

How's Mouse?  Willie and Winnie?  The kids and grandkids?

I can't tell you how much I've missed you.  I think of you and Len every day.

Hi Everybody, thanks for checking up on us, and petey, your a doll  :flower; Len didn't feel well yesterday and today doesn't seem to be going any better. I fixed breakfast, did dishes and then weedeated the whole yard and then cut it. Thank god that is done for another week. It isn't as hot here today as it has been so I just wanted it done before the temperature goes up again tomorrow, along with the thunderstorms.

petey, somedays I get a little tired of being overwhelmed, I'd like a nice couple of weeks to chill. I do what I have to do, but sometimes I'm not real happy about it. I don't think I'm really as tough as I would like everyone to believe. Know what I mean? Thanks for asking about the family. I went to the Vet the other night during a horrible thunderstorm to get Mouse's medicine (her antibiotic) and no sooner pulled out of the parking lot and a tree fell across the highway behind me. Then I had to go to CVS and pick up another prescription for Mouse (have you ever done such a thing?) CVS for a pet? That's where I have to get her thyroid medicine. Sounded strange telling the girl at drive in window "Mouse Feline Amos" The girl was telling me that it is pretty common. First for me. Willie and Winnie are not happy to be sharing so much attention with Mouse, but they are good. Billy has been emptying a Junk yard for a guy that is getting ready to build small sub-division and he has been hauling junk cars to Virginia to a re cycler place. He loads the cars up in the evening and leaves his house about 4am and gets home about 9am. Then he works his normal job. Oh youth. My daughter is the dollbaby of all dollbabies, she can't seem to do enough for everyone. My granddaughter Amanda (17) got a summer intern job with the Government and they are talking about her working part-time when school starts since she will only be going to school for half days. She was so excited to get that first paycheck. Adam is just your typical boy and Hannah has gone to a few Horseback camps already and has another to attend in August. That child loves Horses.

Bet you didn't think I'd be writing a book. I better go catch up on posts or I'll really get behind. We will continue to take one day at a time around here and that's the best we can do.  :cuddle;

And do you get a little time to pamper yourself every once in awhile?  Someone sent me a little booklet reminding me that you can be a better caregiver if you do something nice for yourself occasionally.   :grouphug;
