Here is my first PD supply delivery  :bandance; . It is about 4 1/2' high approx 5 1/2' wide and about 1 1/4' deep - 34 fluid boxes 1 ultra clamp box and two minicap boxes.  :o

Whew, I missed the delivery of mine 3rd load however, the Baxter man was good enough to leave me 31 cases of 2.5 for me to pack into the house, it took me a while but I got them all in.  :yahoo;

Eye impairments and blindness in one eye began in 95, major one during visit to the Indy 500 race of that year
   -glaucoma and surgery for that
     -cataract surgery twice on same eye (2000 - 2002). another one growing in good eye
     - vitrectomy in good eye post tx November 2003, totally blind for 4 months due to complications with meds and infection

Diagnosed with ESRD June 29, 1999
1st Dialysis - July 4, 1999
Last Dialysis - December 2, 2000

Kidney and Pancreas Transplant - December 3, 2000

Cataract Surgery on good eye - June 24, 2009

Yes Kim, the overnight PD bags are usually 5 or 6 liters each, packed 2 bags/box.

Just a side note : The overnight bags are bigger, but the boxes are same size.

Thats what I was wondering, I never really thought that the boxes might be bigger, I had a hard time finding room for what I have now, which is 30 boxes for my manual...

When I was on NxStage one of things I hated the most was dumping the boxes about once a week.  Ugh...that was soooo much work.  Glad I'm back in center.  :2thumbsup;

 :o Oh those BOXES !! After 5 yrs of dealing with them I guess I forget what a pain in the butt they are. I live in a very rural area, so I haul and burn those babies everyday in a barrel, in the rain, in the snow and Ice. Just thankful for this big old farm house though for storage. I often refer to us as "The Box People "  :yahoo;

Mother of daughter on PD dialysis. Transplanted 1991, dialysis June 2003, transplanted 2004 this transplant never took, still on PD and waiting 5 yrs. and when the gift of life is once again never shall we be tied down, look out Hawaii we are coming back !! it's my daughter's dream.

My first shipment of PD supplies was by far the largest.  My PD nurse had ordered for me and because she didn't know for sure which % dialysate I would need each night (I'm on a Fresenius cycler), she ordered all types in order to cover all bases.  If I remember correctly, I received at least 40 boxes of fluid that first time and it was truly overwhelming!  I started keeping records of exactly which type of dialysate I was using each night and now I order only what I feel I need.  Right now I'm waiting for my monthly delivery and I'll be receiving 31 boxes of fluid and 16 boxes of assorted tubing.  Luckily it all fits into a closet in one of our spare bedrooms. 

We live in a rural area but our county does have a recycling program so I flatten the boxes each day and my husband takes the boxes along with our other recycling in about once a month.  We're planning on going down to FL in October to visit my father for about a month.  We've been there several times now and people have come to know that when we're there, they're welcome to the boxes if they want them.  I'm always amazed at how many people stop by for the "great boxes".

These are cardboard boxes and Baxter or whomever delivers them doesn't recycle? Seems like there is money
to be made from taking the empty boxes back when delivering.

Robby712, I just cut the tape on each box and flatten it out as it empties.  Then on Tuesday I dump them all in my recycle bin and they go bye-bye.  I'm doing my part for recycling!

I was questioned once at my local re-cycling tip as to whether the boxes were domestic or commercial waste. I guess he figured commercial because theer were so many of them.

I have developed "mad skillz" with a box cutter.  Still in my tiny apt, my NxStage boxes double as furniture.  I have a dialysate buffet table, and a dialysate & saline  side table.  I just stack them up and throw some fabric over them.

Wow, this thread reminded me how excited when my PD supplies delivery came, and even the excitement of going forsurgery to get my PD catheter... It's weird to me I don't think about them things anymore, as if I try to block it out unconsciously to make it so I will never have to be on it again...anyways. I am glad to be brought back down to reality for a few seconds and remember the simple joys while going through such agony.
