I'm so sorry I've been away from the boards for so long . . . life w/ 2 teens gets really hectic!

Well, I'm BACK, and I bear good news!  I have been notified that I will receive my new kidney in less than 1 month.  My brother, graciously and gerously offered to be evaluated back in November.  He was just notified that he was approved as my donor!  If all goes as planned, I check into the hospital on June 19th, and will receive my new kidney on June 20th.  I am still in shock, a little nervous, but REALLY EXCITED!!!  :yahoo;

I plan to read ALL the posts in this Topic, so I'd better go, and start reading!!!

I have Alport's Syndrome. My kidneys failed when I was 14 and I was on PD for five years before receiving a kidney transplant from my mother. That kidney failed in 2004 and I've been back on PD ever since. I am undergoing treatment for my high antibodies at Cedars-Sinai medical center. I had a kidney transplant on June 10, 2008. My boyfriend was the donor.

It's almost here.  How exciting (maybe a little nerve-wracking as well) and I hope everything goes really smoothly for both you and your brother.
