My thoughts are with all of America on this sad day.   My grandson was born one month after 9/11 and his mother named him Ezekiel, "God strenghtens".  Her daughter was born when the Iraq war started and her name is Paxton "peace".     Strength and Peace--may we all find both.   :usaflag;

Just realized that nothing was said on the radio this morning nor a moment of silence. Have people forgotten already  :urcrazy; I don't need to hear about it all day, but a nice rememberance of silence when the planes struck the building and when the passengers attempted to take over the terrorist on the plane. It's bad enough that the young generation only gives a crap about American Idol and know nothing about the world around them. And these idiots make 50 k a year :o ??? (Wenchie works with 2 of them who didn't even know who Ted Kennedy was)

Oh, I did order my tires online and have to go pick them up. Tire Centers say they will meet competitors prices, but not really. What money they say they will meet just move charges around for installation and ends up costing more than what's even quoted on their national website database. Just glad this tire warehouse internet site has a location somewhat nearby and also does installation. Gonna love going there to smell all those new tires and see some race cars they sponsor.  :2thumbsup;

Cell Phone search = pain in the  :sir ken; AT&T (my carrier) sells  the low vision phones, but not through local stores. How is one suppose to try one out and test features? I don't want to buy an untested product that I can not see, feel, touch to seee if it is ease of use.

OK  off  :rant; :2thumbsup;

Chris...maybe make some calls and see if they would send you a phone to check out.  Doesn't the Americans with Disabilities Act mean anything to service providers.

American Federation of the Blind was not informative, it was just a quick article to let people know there is something out there. Major Name sites like cnet.com does not review the software, they just review the phone and features. With the software, your suppose to be able to enlarge the screen size/font size to be able to read the screen or text message, have it read to you, give voice prompts to navigate without seeing, have the capability to do speech to text input also.

Wenchie I have their number for the main DC office, maybe there is a place in the city to go to. But then need a gps to locate the place, preferably a gps unit with the latest downloaded map instead of the satellite based GPS which has trouble in the city.

Wasn't a good day to drive today, missed my exit twice off the highway. First going there and then coming back long way around to get home! Drive 5 miles to make a u'eey

It helps my back pain though, so it is a good thing for me, but not the preferred method.

I'll take CA 90's or 80's any day compared to the 90's and 80's we have here. I hate humidity, love the weather out that way more.

Yes.  I grew up in Connecticut and remember 90/90.  90 degrees or hotter and 90 percent humidity.  You would walk outside and be covered in sweat.  It has been pretty hot out here the last couple of weeks for my little guy playing football.  The last 2 games he played away on artificial turf and it had to have been 110 degrees on the field.  110 is hot, even for dry heat.  Luckily tomorrow's game will be at 7:00 PM under the lights so it should be in the 70's at game time.

Noticed more and more fields are going to artificial turf, but never say why in the newspaper why the schools and community centers are doing it. Only thing I can think of  right now is to avoid divits to avoid injuries. I also can only picture the artificial grass that use to be used on outdoor patios that I couldn't stand the feel.
