Pain level scale needs to go higher than 10!

That damn scale is useless.  "With 10 as the worst pain you've ever felt."  Well, let's see, the worst pain I've ever felt was when my intestines tied themselves in a knot the day after my kidney pancreas transplant, and no one believed there was anything wrong.  They figured I was drug seeking and simply constipated and left me alone in the hospital room for an hour, screaming.

So when I tell you my pain level right now is a 5 - it freakin' hurts!

Pain scale still puzzles me when I am asked how do I feel!

Well bacon and sausage are about the only things that sound good there, I'm a picky eater, what can I say. I know what I like.

Is it wrong to sleep and let parents take care of dog for once?
I had been out in the heat yesterday going to pick up papers from doc and getting lab results, then had cane training out in the heat. I do not do well with heat, I get tired and loose energy. So I was awoken by the dog barking and my parents were up. They took the pup out over an hour ago and tell him to settle down and go to sleep since it was 12 am. Well he didn't sstop and had to go and he did, all over his crate and self. Instead of taking the dog out like their my mom's instinct was, my dad said to quiet him down. So they had to bath him, clean up the crate in the middle of the night while I slept. Then this morning I get crap for not waking up. Oh well is my thought, you wanted the dog also, you have to share the responcability. If he is my dog and my dog only, then I will take full responcability. So far today is going easier, but wish my pain would go away fully. Not looking forward to upcoming test when doc comes back from vacation.

I watched 127 Hours during dialysis today.  It was kind of weird sitting there not being able to move my arm as I watched it.  I know his situation was MUCH more painful than mine.  At the end of dialysis I started to cramp.  Hmmm, maybe sympathy cramps.

Today was a bad day with pup, the little sh^% grabbed my glasses off my face and ran off with them while outside. It was hard to catch  him, then find my glasses, but luckily he only scratched the right lens which I can not see out of. I am not in a good mood with what he did, so I am staying away from him. Had to go to urology, but they had to send sample out for further testing. Not looking forward to scope test next month if pain is going to be this bad, I need a rest!

It's just so hard.  I am so tired. IHD is a wonderful supportive community but it is not the same as having someone close to talk to and actually care about you.  I have had so many balls in the air for so long they seem to be getting away from me. Like many people right now I can't make ends meet.  I guess I am just having a pity party for myself but I am just so tired.

(((((Marc)))))

Try not to be so hard on yourself - what you suspect is a pity party I would call a normal reaction to overwhelming circumstances. Try to be nice to yourself, and maybe let the non-essential tasks in your day slide for a little while until you (hopefully) get some of your energy back.

I am sorry I do not have to more to offer. I hear you that IHD is great but no substitute for people in your life. I am hoping that things turn around for you very soon. :cuddle;
