What a scary situation, Chris!

Morning everyone. My students are busy cutting vegetable for a big community lunch today. What fun. Kids with knives.  :rofl; :rofl;

Good morning friends.  My son is having surgery this morning, so I am waiting for a call. His wife didn't want others there.  I think I will clean the kitchen to make the time pass quicker.

Chris, I am worried about you.  I hope you can get a long period of rest, with no stress going on. You have had a rough week.   :cuddle;

I will win for awhile.  :2thumbsup;

Oh, Chris! Please be careful - that was scary to just read about.

My husband is out getting a part to try to fix the dishwasher. Please let it work! I really don't want to go through Thanksgiving without a dishwasher.  :thumbdown;

It's Thanksgiving here already - not that we have Thanksgiving, but if we did, it's today.  I wish we did.  Such a lovely thing.

Des my sleep is way off. Slept for 20 min on the train home, then off and on in the car I was in, and finaly after an hour of getting home for 3 hours. Then it has been off and on making it hard to get up and I ended up taking meds late. Gonna try to get more sleep, but need to clean the kitchen in the morning. Only thing I'm looking forward to is Southern Comfort Vanilla Egg Nog (non alcoholic) tomorrow. The stuff is so good I could drink the whole carton.

Happy Thanksgiving IHD - I'm headed to Maine to spend a few days with my daughter and her husband.  New tradition this year.  Traditions have to start somewhere and I'm happy to be able to be in at the beginning.    I'm just hoping for few drivers on the road today.

Take care everyone

The turkey and roasted vegetables are in the oven. The house is, well, presentable and I am sitting down for a few minutes before my brother and SIL arrive.  :clap;

To everyone, everywhere, give thanks for being alive whether or not you celebrate Thanksgiving officially today. Me, I hug my husband and our NxStage machine.

I contracted my son's cold, so I am tired and non-festive today. I don't like Thanksgiving anyhow, so it is no great loss.

My husband used his birthday gift from the kids - the book "My Bread: The Revolutionary No-Work No-Knead Method" today. It is a slow rise method (around 18 hours) and the bread is cooked in a cast-iron pot in the oven. We have a gorgeous boule downstairs, and it looks exactly like the cover of the book. Amazing.  :clap;

Hope you're feeling cheerier, Des. I bet South Africa has some lovely holidays we've never even heard of over here.  :)

We had a quiet time with just my brother, his wife, and Carl and me. Did some catching up.

We have packed up for our camping trip tomorrow. And Carl is having his treatment early so we can pack up the machine for the trip. Woo hoo!

But now I win!

I slept all day except to take pills and move positions due to soreness. Didn't miss anything either, mom didn't cook the turkey anyway  :rofl; :rofl; We don't buy whole turkeys though. So missed the arguments, dad watching football and the two arguing  :2thumbsup; I finally got up after 10 pm and up out of bed after 11 pm.
