Well, my 2nd brother had his blood tested last Tuesday and he was finally called this morning by the coordinator.  His blood is a match and he is showing 3/6 antigens with 3 that are "blank".  My coordinator told him she isn't sure if they were "not found" or what, but that it is an advantage to me because he is definitely a 3/6 and possibly more.  ????    :2thumbsup;

Anyway,  he is going to be admitted for the remainder of his testing April 17 & 18, or some time during that week.

More waiting....

 :2thumbsup; :clap; Hope the rest of the testing goes smoothly.  My kidney angel and I are a 2-antigen match (not related to each other).  We are hoping to get her in for the rest of her testing shortly.

Keeping up prayers for both of us and our potential donors  :grouphug;!

Living donor has one more test to go (4-14-2008).  Her left kidney could be mine in a few months.  No surgery date yet.

Thank you.  Thank you.    Congratulations on your donor, as well.  If I may ask, how did you meet your "angel"?     :angel;    I find these stories fascinating!

We actually met 30 years ago in college, and although never 'bosom' buddies or anything, our paths have continued to cross over the years.  Fast forward to January of this year.  My angel and I live in the same community.  When it was time for me to go to UAB for my initial testing, she took me (my husband did not plan to go, instead he is in the process of divorcing me).  She had her blood drawn while we were there, and as they say, the rest is history!

She is so excited to be able to do this!  I am so blessed!!

Amazing and wonderful!  :2thumbsup;    Sorry about your soon to be ex.  Is the divorce kidney disease related?  ha ha  That sounds funny!  I mean is it due to your illness?  Either way, I'm sorry you're going through that at this time.

 ??? kellyt,

I honestly don't know if the split is due to CKD.  We were engaged when I first got sick in 1983.  We got married 3 weeks after I was released from the hospital, so it has always been there with us.  I had a really long run of good health until last summer, then things started going downhill.  So it could very well be an issue.  Personally, I think it is male menopause (sorry guys)  :banghead; :oops;.

He says he still wants to 'take care of me,' and we are still residing in the same house (for now).  We'll see how it plays out.
