Me and the boys

« on: March 21, 2008, 06:33:29 AM »

HI everyone I am a 37 yr old f.. I have been type 1 diabetic for 25+yrs and that is cause of kidney failure, Although I didnt know I was in kidney failure until I my twins were stillborn. I knew my kidneys were failing for 4 yrs now and finally talked dr into getting on a kidney list. I am also a 2x cancer surviror (which is the misscomunnication dr had he thought I had to wait 4yrs cancer free and turns out my kind of cancer is 2 plus I should have still been allowed to gather time but cant complain about the whatifs.
I had Pd catheter put in in Feb...still not working .In fact wasnt working in the o/r but dr felt it was blood clots..Top things off they did tons of tests and everything is showing catheter is fine ..but CT did show several enlarged lymph nodes and a mass in my lung..(God willing it is not the Sarcoma cancer that came back but things dont look good) Dr wants me to have gen surgeon biopsy lymph nodes in pelvis and meanwhile he can see what is going on with catheter ..I want to find out if lymph are reacting to catheter that is why they are swelling and i am hoping this 'mass' is just fluid (I didnt have CT with contrast so not sure how accurate it is showing fluid vs solid tumor)
So that is part of my life LOL I have a whole long black cloud book but it iis early why put you to sleep now :)
I am so happy I found this site ..thanks

Welcome to our community!  We are so glad you joined us.  This is just the place for you to be, with people who understand EXACTLY what you are going through.  This is much more than a website - we have become a real family, sharing and caring.  So take advantage of all the site has to offer.  Read lots and post lots.  We want to know what is going on with you.  Not nosy, just family.   :grouphug;  I see that you are a survivor like me.  I had my cancer challenge and then this renal challenge.  But we will make it!!

:welcomesign;  You certainly have been through more than most people. You have found a good place for information and especially for support.   I am so sad about your twins. You have had your share and more of heartache.  So glad you are here :cuddle;  Looking forward to hearing more of your journey.

Welcome 7piglets to ihatedialysis.com,

Sorry to hear of you losing two sets of twins but I'm glad you seem to be upbeat. You have a beautiful smile and your boys look so happy in that picture. You have had a few bumps in the road but I hope your future is better. Thanks for taking the time to join our family and please know you can read, ask questions and post as often as you like.

No bans for questions are offered around here. The more questions we can answer the better for everyone!  I am often amazed at the knowledge here on this forum.  :basket:

Welcome 7Piglets!

I don't think there is anything that people could say that doesn't sound trite or redundant, but my heart goes out to you.  It seems though, through everything, you've kept a wonderful outlook on life...

Glad you are here!  You sound like a wonderful person and your boys are just beautiful!
