Goofynina and Epoman - Gone But Not Forgotten

WWW
« on: June 29, 2006, 07:32:37 PM »

Since my computer was giving me some trouble, I have been using the computers in the English Department Staffroom from time to time.  I suppose that sometiimes my colleagues see where I am as they pass by.  I even tell some of them about the site.
Yesterday, my Department Head, who fancies herself as a positive thinker, was up in arms concerning the name of our site - I Hate Dialysis.com.  "Oh, you should not be in anything that negative!"  "Don't you know that what you declare will ......."   "You have to make positive affirmations" and on, and on, and on.......  She even said I should not go on a site with such a name!!
I tried a couple of times to get my bit in, but it was rather difficult.  I said "look at the title - we are not negative, we just hate dialysis"
I then went on to say "For some thing you consider harmful, it has done me a world of good! I am not leaving this site, and that's that!"
Well, she left then, leaving me to my own just deserts.
This one has never asked me about what I am really going through, never sat with me for a minute and shown any kind of real care.  Yet she finds that she has the right/duty to tell me to leave this website, because the name doesn't gel with her.

I've found that if you SLAP a person when they go on and on and won't let you talk that helps.

Aks her to come sit with you during dialysis just ONE time and see how positive she would be.
