When I first found this site a few months ago I read a lot...but missed that Epoman had passed on. I read practically everything he had written and when I found out he had passed on it was such a shock. I cried like a baby. I felt as if I'd lost a family member and I hadn't even joined this forum yet. He has left such an incredible gift! Here's to you, Epoman!

I had the same experience when I joined -- like losing a friend I hadn't met yet. His humour, caring and wild attitude are so strong everywhere on the site. He lives on.

I agree. He has really left a wonderful legacy to us.
Has anyone kept in contact with his wife and son or know how they are doing?

Trina and Nick came to Vegas last year and it was great getting to know them. Nick is a terrific kid. He kept us all laughing. Trina is still very much connected with IHD and Sluff.
I miss Epoman's edge and quick tongue. He didn't let us get away with too much! He also took time to know us and and gave great support. He lived through more than most of us ever will and continues to be a huge inspiration. We are fortunate that he had the wisdom to put together a great administrative team before he was gone. I am so glad members are reading his posts and understanding what his vision was.

You guys who joined IHD since Epoman's passing, thank you so much for your words of appreciation for him! It makes me feel so good that you can still get to know him as we did. What a tremendous person, and what a tremendous legacy he has left for all in any way connected to this renal challenge!

I am always impressed with what Epoman achieved in his short life. He was only 32 years old but built this wonderful site that lives on. His words, ideas, opinions, they really make IHD what it is, a great place for info, support and even some fun.

he always had time for differing opinions and didnt sugar coat much, which gained my respect for him immensely. He started IHD because of the way he was deleted on Davitas boards for being truthful about the unvarnished truth of dialysis...and consequently we can all come here and get honest answers.

I had the same exact experience - I came here and read for a few days straight and did not realize a few of the peoples posts I was reading had passed - like Lifeonhold, Virrat and of course Epo. After Discovering they were gone (I discovered this at different times) it had a profound effect on me. I had read their posts got to know them a bit and learned from them. I saw how people interacted with them and adored them. I felt as if I knew them and then I read they were gone - I was devastated by the loss of each one.... truly devastated. I feel as if I have gotten to know a lot of the people here by reading their posts. It is strange to talk to people who you feel like you know but they know nothing about you. But I am workin on it
