I'm here.. for us.

« on: March 05, 2008, 04:26:54 AM »

Hello everyone!

I am seeing someone who is on Dialysis and he suggested I come here and read/learn more. Yes he is a member here.

He and I are doing quite well together and it's for the long haul.  So.. I'll probably lurk for a while
as I learn more and ask questions here and there as I get to know you all.

Hi and   :welcomesign; from the  :ukflag;.  Quite a number of us are here to try to understand better how it is for our loved ones. We also get a lot of support from everyone when we too are finding it hard to cope and I hope we give a little of that back.

welcome, mysty!  I'm a caregiver, and I'm standing ready to help you with any questions you have.  My husband (Marvin) and I have found that ESRD is never, never easy, but it is "easier" when the burden is shared by two people who love each other.

:welcomesign; Mysty.  Lurk away!!!  but ask any questions at any time and you will find lots of info, advice, and caring.  I've been a caregiver (for my Mom who was on dialysis) and an ERSD patient.  I have two perspectives for the price of one.  :)

Take care

Thank you everyone!... ;D

I said lurk cause there is soooo much information and threads to read that will more than likely give me a lot of initial answers...

Hey Sluff  .. Yeah.. I am persistent aren't I? Thank you for reading his email.. Not sure what I was doing wrong before.   :thx;

Rose and Petey.. trust me.. I will have questions no doubt.  Right now.. it's all new.. and the main thing is getting it right and making sure he's ok and happy and this is one way.. one of the many facets to a relationship.. at least ours :cuddle;...   So i'll be  :secret; you all soon.. let me get my feet wet on the site...

You all are great.. thank you    :yahoo;

i am a 51 year old male on dialysis for 3 years now. This is my second time. My brother donated a kidney to me about 13 years ago. I found this site on another site. I had to laugh when i saw what it was called. I hope to meet people from all over to talk about dialysis.

Welcome to our community, Mysty!  I just love it when people join us because of someone they love is dealing with this renal challenge.  There is lots to read here, but don't just read.  Please post and let us get to know you.  You see, we have become a real family here and we need to know how you are doing.  There is lots of love here, lots of caring and sharing.  This site is a godsend and a refuge to many.  I really appreciate it being here when I needed it.  So, welcome to the family! :grouphug;

Everyone has been great and open and warm.  I don't like things too sugarcoated actually not at all.  I really like that things are up front and straight.    :2thumbsup;

I've been doing sooo much reading (ok and googling too!). And have emailed with a few on here already..Yes.. I've been posting as I come across concerns or questions... I'm sure its a learning curve at first... dont you worry.. one thing I'm not is shy on a computer..(note computer.. in person... i'm like a 5 year old hiding behind mommy for a bit)

Now.. i'm off to the Diets and Recipies section..as long as asparagus  :thumbdown; isnt there, I'll be ok!!!

Welcome Keefer51's girlfriend.  It is so good when people who are part of our lives pop on over to find out what this dialysis thing is all about! Have fun reading.  There is a special section for caregivers on the site.  Not that you have to stay there. Join on in on any discussion across the site.
