This year Easter falls on 3/23 and that will be winter coat weather.
I got an e-mail that said the last time Easter was this early was 1913. (95 yrs ago)
The next time it will be this early again is 2221.  Over 200 yrs away.
The next time it will be even earlier (3/22) is 2285 (277 yrs. from now).
I haven't checked the truth of it.
Around Ohio there will likely be snow on the ground.   brrrrrrrrrrrrr
The big egg hunt will be 3/15.....................br.............

I hate when Easter is in March, doesn't feel very Eastery at all.  Easter has fallen on my birthday alot in the past (April 16), I love sharing my bday with the EB!

Interesting with those facts, looks like none of us will be around to see it!

Now it feels odd to have Easter so late.  ???

Have you ever wondered why Easter Sunday can fall anywhere between March 22 and April 25? And why do Eastern Orthodox churches celebrate Easter on a different day than Western churches? These are all good questions with answers that require a bit of explanation. In fact, there are as many misunderstandings about the calculation of Easter dates, as there are reasons for the confusion. What follows is an attempt to clear up at least some of the confusion.

The Short Answer

At the heart of the matter lies a very simple explanation. The early church fathers wished to keep the observance of Easter in correlation to the Jewish Passover. Because the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ happened after the Passover, they wanted Easter to always be celebrated subsequent to the Passover. And, since the Jewish holiday calendar is based on solar and lunar cycles, each feast day is movable, with dates shifting from year to year. Now, from here the explanation grows more complicated.

All I know is that I'm happy when Eastern and Western Easter is on two different days.  My husband's family is Orthodox Christian and my family is Western Christian.  So on years like this one, we have to choose who to spend Easter with and on the other years, we can do Easter with both sides of the family.

At least for Christmas, we always have the two separate Christmas celebrations as Orthodox Christmas is on January 7th and that never moves.   :)

It will in 2101. After that year it will be January 8th for the next 100 years.
