Hi there, Last night I forgot to drain out the air, before draining in, talk about pain, it was the kind of pain that is paralysing, both my shoulders hurt like hell and I had heard that the pain of taking in air could last for days, So I prayed in my agony and the Lord reminded me of something quite simple" Air floats upwards. so for about ten minutes my wife held the line while I tried to get my legs as High in the air as I could, suddenly to my relief air bubbles came rushing out of the catheter and into the drain bag, after ten minutes of acrobatic draining, the pain was gone and I was happy...

yeah God.

anyway just so people know if you accidently drain air in to your body, stand on your head...... no pain after ten minutes....

Oh dont you hate that!!! I only forgot once, and that was enough to make me remember not to do it again!!! The pain usually lasted around 4 or more days for me, and it isnt nice thats for sure. I got the pain occaisionally even if I had primed the lines. But that is just part of PD. I didnt think sit upside down lol Im on hemo now anyway, and theres no way you can forget to prime the lines, thankfully. You do get a little bit of air going in though. After you flush the cannulas theres a few bubbles at the end of the line.

Hey good advice, maybe someone can test it out to prove if it works for others, So... someone please, forget to drain the air out, so we can test this.  ;D ;D

But seriously if you found a way to reverse the mistake in 10 minutes that's great, hopefully someone else can confirm.
