:thumbdown;
Hello all, I'm glad I finally found a group that deals with the same issues I'm having to deal with. My name is Rick, I live in midwest. I have been type II diabetic since 2000. Last April 2007 I was diagnosed with stage III CKD with GFR of 52, Creatinine of 1.4, since then I've steadily fallen down to GFR 33, Creatinine of 2.09 and BUN of 53 as of 1/30/08.
Kidney disease runs in my family. My grandfather on my mom's side died of renal failure in 1983 at age 86. my mom passed away at 56 years of age from renal failure.
I'm Caucasian male.
I'm looking forward to learning much from other members regarding my CKD.

Thank you for allowing me membership to this board.
Rick

Hey Rick,

Welcome, this is a great place to be I am glad you found us.
Hi CW,
Hope you and I gain allot of information from this site. I just joined tonight but in looking through it, it looks to be loaded with helpful people and information.
I lived across the state line in Klamath Falls Oregon. Also spent several years living in So.Cal. But it's hard to beat the northwestern part of our country.

Best of luck,
Rick
Yes the northwest is the best and I have a true appreciation for the temperate climate as I am a northeast transplant. So explore you will find great info, compelling and inspirational stories and most importantly - great friends.

i am a 51 year old male on dialysis for 3 years now. This is my second time. My brother donated a kidney to me about 13 years ago. I found this site on another site. I had to laugh when i saw what it was called. I hope to meet people from all over to talk about dialysis.
