When I was little I thought I was special to have my birthday at Christmas - all the decorations and parties made me feel great. However, sometimes my mom would try to get me a "bigger" birthday gift by lumping it together with Christmas gift, but I finally told her I prefer it separate. It was more of a hassle for her - but I wanted to open more gifts (made sense to me.)
 :christmastree;
Having a birthday 8 days before Christmas is fun! I know KitKatz has a December birthday too - I hope we can meet for lunch to celebrate!

Anyone else born in December??

Me and my son Ben, he will turn 23 on the 15th and i will be 45 on the 23rd and it sucked as a kid i would usually get one big present, and these days most of my friends are to busy to do anything as its to close to Christmas >:(  but Hubby always takes me out for a great meal oh and this will be the first birthday Ben has celebrated away from home, and thats kinda sad. I also have 3 cousins born the same day as me.

I'm a December baby, too!  December 29th to be exact...

I was always lucky because my family never did the whole Christmas/Birthday combo thing.

I used to get one gift for Christmas and birthday until I told the family enough was enough. Everyone else got two presents a year and I wanted Christmas and birthday presents separate! They do it now.

I have a girlfriend who's birthday is Dec 24th.  And she says she always hated it because her birthday and Christmas just got lumped into one.  Her hubby brought her birthday present over last year for me to wrap and made sure I used birthday wrap and NOT Christmas wrap.  A definite no-no!  This year he had a surprise 1/2 yr. birthday party in July.  She loved it.

In my family, the deal is the 2nd of the month.

My grandfather was born on March 2 and well as my twin nephews.
My two oldest brothers were born on Oct 2 exactly 1 year apart.
My twin brother and I were born on Sep 2 as was my first cousin.
And I now have new twin great-nieces born on June 2 of this year.

Guess 2's our lucky number.

I am born in January, far enough from Christmas that there should be no problem (January 23), but it used to turn out that my birthday came just before the first payday after Christmas, so what I used to get was a lot of ------ promises!  By the time payday came and the bills caught up, all I had to keep were the promises!

I think I have mostly managed to turn my December birthday into an advantage.  Maybe that's because it's early in the month (hint, hint).  I got my parents to pay my tuition for a special marine biology course at the MBL in Woods Hole, MA (a famous place for marine biologists) when I was in college by telling them they could give it to me as a birthday/Christmas present.  Yes, I am that geeky.

If so I hope it's a good one, even though Stephen is not home.
How come you're not on our calendar?
Opps now I see it - well, hope tomorrow is a great day and your hubby is home!
Geeks rule! I married one!
