Fistula squirt lol

Last night at treatment Brenda my tech went a bit higher on my fistula since it is best to help with bumps and what-not. Well when she stuck the needle in, a huge squirt of blood went everywhere! I had blood on my shirt and my arm, and Brenda had it on her arm as well. I hope Gain Detergent works!

That happens with mine lots of the time too. I use peroxide, a trick the nurse at the clinic told me.

I self-cannulate and squirt a lot as my fistula is very well developed.  To avoid the squirting though, I don't use a tourniquet on my arm anymore - no tourniquet = no squirting.
