I think they call it "Blitz" here in San Antonio.  And no....I've never gone!

Actually, I have an appt with my vascular surgeon AGAIN.  My fistula incision done on Oct 31st just started bleeding this morning.  He thinks I might have popped a sutcher (sp?) , but not sure.  My arm is still quite swollen with fluid.  It's the part of the incision that highest up under my arm near my arm pit and it hurts pretty much daily!

 I never go shopping on Black Friday. BUT , for everyone who does please be careful. I had an ER doctor come into the coffee shop I manage today and told me that the day after Thanksgiving is one of the busiest days in the ER all year. A lot of people get in accidents, fights, etc.

Hey! I didn't get my JoAnn flyer!!

You have to sign up at the store to get them mailed to you.  They usually have a 40% coupon for anything regular priced on the back page - I use that a lot.

Oooh, bad week to miss out on the flyer!  A 40% off any reglar price item, a 50% off any regular price item, and another 20% off the total, sale items included, for coupons!  I've got mine all marked up with the sale stuff I need.  Fimo is half off - so at 70% off, I may just buy out the rack. . .

What did you guys buy?
I can't imagine there's anything to buy that would get me out at 4 am to stand in line with a bunch of early bird shoppers!

Here in Raleigh (and other places I am sure) people were lined up at Best Buy at 9AM ON THURSDAY!!!!!!  A full day before they opened to get the Toshiba laptop for $250...  When my brother, Todd, went by Thursday at about 6PM the line was clear across the building.

INSANITY!

I went to Walmart at 7:30 a.m. on Friday  because my daughter needed a blue nightgown for Milwaukee.  It was nuts.  I found pants though for 5 bucks apiece.  Hee yay!

I did shop a little on my way back from an appointment in the afternoon. By then the crowds and traffic were very thinned out. I found a few good buys.

I like black friday. I just sit in the parking lot and watch people put valuables in the trunk of there car and go back into stores. i pick the cars that have a latch beside the car seat to open the trunk. i swing by open the door, flip the latch take the goods and go.  :2thumbsup;

i like to stand by women in stores that keep there purses open with money sitting on top of everything in the purse, sticky fingers just sticks hand in purse very fast and the money just clings to my fingers.  :bow;

o' this is a great time to get free gifts. only in america  :usaflag;

naw, just kidding. but a warning to be careful everyone during your shopping.

I was at JoAnn's at 7 am - an hour after they opened.  I waited in line to get fabric cut about 20 minutes, but it wasn't too bad.  I got $600 dollars worth of fabric for $100, and another $50 dollars worth of notions and clay all at more than half off.  It was worth it!

Rob showing off his pot of gold!

« Reply #41 on: November 26, 2007, 05:16:22 AM »

I was out of the house by 4:30 and at Walmart by 5:00.  I got our son a Portable DVD Player for $50 (great deal!), and a WWE Wrestling Chamber.  I was in line at target for 6:00 opening.  I got the Guitar Hero Bundle for PS2 for $85!!!  I wish I got 2 so I could sell one on ebay.  I saw a couple selling for $170 there.  I also got some other toys for our son.  We also have a store called Bob's here that has loads of sporting goods, plus clothing and shoes for the family.  I got Rob some Patriots & Red Sox clothing and also a nice, heavy Red Sox winter coat for our son and a Patriots shirt.  I got some really great deals, so glad I went.  I go every year!

I did see some crazies out there.  In Target this nut case was upset about the crowds in the store and couldn't move, so he picked up his carriage and walked around with it.  It was crazy and pushy, but for the most part, the people were fine.
