Father has passed away
«
on:
October 27, 2007, 02:53:07 PM »
Dad has been on hemo for almost 2 yrs due to diabetes. He has been doing great so far, levels have been good due to his diet which my mother monitors. He was admitted to hospital this morning due to moderate chest pain. They did 2 ekgs a chest xray and we will have to wait till monday for them to do the angiogram if he gets a heart attack.-i need good vibes praying that nothing bad happens i want him to pull out of this. Im the one who communicates with his doctors and it is rough to not fall apart but at the same time i cannot imagine whats its like for him to hear his cardiologist say he has heart disease all over and there may be nothing u can do
***********
He passed away a little after midnight-he was kept on a dopamine drip and his BP kept dropping. He kept trying to get up knowing the whole time he was passing away. We upped his morphine-I didnt want to see him suffer but unfortunately he did. I cant imagine his pain at trying to breathe and not being able to and the tightness in his chest. best dad ever.
I want to thank you guys for all the support you gave me and my family with advice and kind words during my fathers 2 year experience on hemo
thanks so very much

My dear, keep your faith, trust and everything will be fine. My prayers are with your Dad. I went through the same thing with my father. Also, I will send a prayer request to our e-prayer warrior group for your dad if you could give me his name. Prayer really works, don't worry.

Good wishes and prayers being sent your way. I can really sympathize as my Dad is 89 and just went through a cancer scare. Many prayers, 4 biopsies and two CT scans later they decided it is an infection in his throat making his lymph nodes swell. Antibiotics cleared it up! Hope your news is just as good.

Dont think father is going to make it. The angiogram was grim news as well as an echo cardiogram both of which i had to fight for because the hospital likes to wait until the end to do anything. He has major blockage in 2 arteries and a bypass with only 30 percent success was their suggestion. They give him a couple days. His name is richard the best father ever thanks for the well wishes he is on pain meds and oxygen all the family is here but its so hard

I know first hand what you are feeling and what you are going through. Your Dad(Richard) is free from his pain and now he walks among the angels in the Lords splendid glory awaiting to meet his family again someday when the time is right. You have a right to grieve in your own way so take your time and know you are not alone. I hope you keep posting and stay active here on IHD because we do care about you.
Rest in piece Richard,
The Greatest Father Ever

It doesn't matter our age when our parents die, we are still the child and just want to keep our Mom and Dad. I felt like an orphan when my Mom died and I was an adult with my own family. I am sorry for your loss and hope you and your family can help each other thru this time.

I am so very sorry Lataek. Fifty-nine is very young. He was a lucky man to have a loving family who held him so dear.
