Started a thread the other day 'cause i thought i had trapped wind , but now im not so sure ? I have tried everything under the sun to get rid of it and ended up calling my gp , who gave me Lansaprazole , thinking it might be the start of reflux ..7 days later ive still got it. Nothing has moved it. I read that constipation can cause it , so took some laxatives and wondered is it possible to still be constipated and go to the toilet ?  I feel constipated but i am going ! I dont have any chest pains , just feel like i got an almighty burp lodged in my upper chest ! I will be back to the gp tommorrow , but if anyone has had anything like this i would love to know ?

Kickstart,

My friend, who is not on dialysis and actually has a completely different disease (gastroparesis), has a serious problem with this "stuck-belch".  It has been driving him literally crazy for the past 2 months.  So much so, that he is on Family Leave with his work and at this point, has no intention of returning.  To cope, he has had to take Ativan or Xanax and is now on an anti-depressant.  If you ever find anything that works, let me know, please!

On the Gastroparesis (GP) group that I am a member, a few ladies in the group shared this "trapped burp" sensation as well.  For one, it went away as he monitored how much food she ate, the time of the food, and going fluoride-free.  She also started reducing dosage of her proton pump inhibitor (PPI like Prilosec or Nexium).  My friend, his name is Kenny, has just recently started trying these suggestions.  It is still too soon to tell if they are working.  I'll keep you posted.

Another lady in the GP support group suggested doing a yoga posed called the Cobra.  She modified it some by laying on her right side with her right arm over her head, laying there for a few minutes; then, she does the yoga pose.  If a burp isn't released on the first try, she says to do it 3 or 4 times.

BTW, do you have hiatal hernia?

A few years ago a Dr. told my husband to take a couple swallows of coke or 7 up and raise both arms and try to burp which helped sometimes.
