Ops I forgot to update about the stent removal. I had it done under a light sedation and it was not a bad experience at all.

So for anyone getting it done, i would recommend getting it done under sedation, instead of a general anesthetic, its much safer options.

My creat. is still great, but I'm still going into clinic every day for blood work, but I'm hoping to have the weekend off this week.  :)

Gosh, your scar looks really thin and light in colour compared to mine. Not that I mind, I'm proud of my scar, but the difference is really surprising, especially considering yours is still much fresher than mine!

Thanks for sharing.  :)

???  Amanda, did they use dissolvable stitches? Just wondering about the differences in the scars.   :-\

That doesn't look bad at all Amanda. It will probably get even better in time.

Maybe we need a thread in the transplant section: Show your scar. Maybe we could have a contest.  >:D something must be wrong with me. :lol;

Amanda, that scar is nearly invisible compared to my two! Even my one from five years ago is a quarter of an inch wide! Have things really changed that much in that little amount of time?

BTW, you look great in the pic that Rose posted!

Thanks everyone. I'm surprised how thin it is also. The surgeons did a clean job.  :2thumbsup;

I had staples in for 2 weeks.

Sluff that scar competition sounds like a great idea.  ;) ;D

But in all honestly it wouldnt bother me how the scar looked, it would of been well worth it.  :)

No, it must have something to do with how different surgeons do their work, I suppose. Because my scar is only 4 months old, and mine is also very wide, nothing like Amanda's.

I'm working on writing a long story with all the details at the moment for you all.  :)

On another note... I have been having a struggle lately emotionally worrying about the Hepatitis thing. I know I'm not the only one with this virus but the way i got it just makes it that much harder to get over. I am worried about what it means for me now and for my future. Don't get me wrong i am happy i got the transplant and am THRILLED to be off that yucky machine, but i just wish things would of gone different, and no matter how hard i try to get over it, i cant. The 70 day inquest into the situation will be over soon. Maybe after hearing some explanation i might feel better... hmmmm maybe.

I just hope i can try to FULLY accept what has happend and move on with it.

Thats about it for my transplant update tonight. Thanks for listening.

Love you all.

Amanda you have every right to feel that way. What happened to you was not right. Nobody who gets a kidney transplant should have to worry about that. There's enough to handle with the transplant itself! I hope that with time things  get better for you and I will pray that the Hep C stays dormant forever.  :grouphug;

Amanda what you are feeling is 100% normal and unfortunately when everyone else calls it a day you are the one that lives with this fear and uncertainty day in and day out.  No matter how big of a law suit or settlement you get, (if any) could never take the fear away. Hopefully in time it won't be a daily reminder or thought.
