Glad I found the site.I'm 28 and on dialysis. Anyone around my age on here on dialysis? But anyway hi to all!!!

Sometimes kidney disease takes a long time to get to stage 5  and therefore many of us are in our 50's before dialysis starts.  But on the good side there are a lot of people here to talk to and many years of experience.  So thanks for joining , look around and stay in touch.

March 7, 2001 - Complications after C-section caused kidney failure
March 2001 - December 2001 - Hemo Dialysis
December 2001 - Kidney function improved dialysis no longer necessary
October 2006 - Kidney function started to decline
May 9, 2007 - Listed at Baylor Dallas and Fort Worth
October 12, 2007 - Started PD
May 13, 2008 - Kidney Transplant from a deceased donor

Uninterrupted in-center (self-care) hemodialysis since 1982 -- 34 YEARS on March 3, 2016 !!

No transplant.  Not yet, anyway.  Only decided to be listed on 11/9/06. Inactive at the moment.  ;)
I make films.

Just the facts: 70.0 kgs. (about 154 lbs.)
Treatment: Tue-Thur-Sat   5.5 hours, 2x/wk, 6 hours, 1x/wk
Dialysate flow (Qd)=600;  Blood pump speed(Qb)=315
Fresenius Optiflux-180 filter--without reuse
Fresenius 2008T dialysis machine
My KDOQI Nutrition (+/ -):  2,450 Calories, 84 grams Protein/day.

Thanks everyone for your kind words. Its great to have all of you to talk to. I am on nocturnal dialysis myself, i find it a lot better for me than daytime dialysis. But anyway just wanted to say thanks and I hope to keep in touch with all of you..

You found a great place, lots of info, support and some awesome people.  Just watch out for one...Goofynina.... :rofl;   she likes to warp the minds of immpresionable young MEN and woman. LOL....

Hello!  :welcomesign;

I am 28, I was on dialysis at age 20 for 7 month's and received a live donor (my mom) transplant. I then went back on dialysis at age 25 and received a cadaver transplant (perfect match) this January (2007).

I'm Kari and my boyfriend, Wade, is the one on dialysis. He's 25 and i'm 24, and this all happened really suddenly so we're totaly reeling and getting adjusted to this ourselves!
