Had Sharon all hooked up and running today and within 10 minutes of starting had ANOTHER cartridge leak, went into a 715 alarm and was unable to do a rinse back in time before clotting began, so took her off and removed the needles, lost all the blood in the filter and hoses, started all over again and was able to get her through the session ok (day 3 on the PureFlow, so set the 2nd session for 17.5 liters, came out almost perfect, took less than 15 minutes to drain the bag afterward)
Sure wish NxStage would re-issue the 160's at least until they can fix the really frustrating problems they have with the 170's, I'm really tired of the anxiety every time I set up the machine wondering if this one will fail or not......

Tom sorry to hear you all are having problems with the 170's. We are on our second box - only alarm problems. Our case lot# is 7057705  (Car170)
 Might be a good idea to post the Case Lot so we can all look out for problems before we start...........  Best of luck.  :boxing;

Sorry, didn't think of that - 7067711, supposed to get our regular shipment on the 24th, anxious to see which ones we get, if the same, I may be on the phone to them, also starting to wonder how many are coming, at first it seemed we had plenty, but with so many failures, may not have a good "cushion" to work with........

I'm on 7057703's - only had one bad one so far, and it went POOF during the prime.

Right now I'm using #7067713 and the main problem I've had has been kinked lines, including one where the dialysate line was mashed almost flat for about 2 inches. Booooooooo!

They've been sending me 7077710s (7 diget number) to replace the 7067711s that I had (and I too had a leak). I still have 8 160s in reserve.

Latest news in my saga, today I received a case of 7077711's, used one for todays treatment and no problem with it. I received the case overnight because of a phone call I made yesterday to our regular ordering lady at NxStage. The reason for the call was to find out what I would be receiving in our scheduled delivery this coming Friday, she stated that I would get 4 cases of cartridges (24 total), this would just barely be enough for a month, but no cushion at all because on Friday I will be down to 2 units in stock, told her this would not be enough because of all the losses from leaker's, she said I should have asked tech support to replace those leaker's on an individual basis, I asked for more, but she told me I would have to call her next week and order more!, by now I had reached my limit in dealing with her and hung up and called tech support and told them what I had just been through, this fellow was really upset and wanted names etc., he said he would take care of it and apologized for the problems, today sure enough came UPS with a box of carts. I'm thinking I will be making arrangements for a different order person in the future.........

Geeez, I can't believe she treated you that way.  It's not like you are having fun with the darn things!  We are having the opposite problem...We are getting too many supplies.  Our nurse never notified them that Rob does 5 days and not 6.  Thankfully the woman is very nice and working with me.  I asked for a partial order because there was just an overload.

Funny thing is, the NxStage company is 2 towns over from me, about 10 miles away!  The last time we had a week of leaks (no pun intended ;)), I told her I will drive them over to you guys so you can see for yourself!

I have wondered for some time now why they do not have a daily log book where we can log all of this information for them.  I think of things while were in the middle of this, but forget about them later.

Like -- why have then gone from strong plastic bags for the cartridges to the flimsy pieces of crap that often comes out of the box torn?  Why did they change the strong plastic backing the thing is mounted in, to the flimsy, paper-thin plastic that cracks if you look at it hard?  Why are they now stacked so that the bottom cartridges had crimped lines, instead of the way they used to be stacked on edge?  Why are some of the lines so tangled that the cartridge is almost unusable, and some shake out neatly, ready to use?

Even if they don't want a daily log, can't they at least give us a weekly or monthly questionnaire?  Do they not want feedback from us?  I certainly can't give it to the nurse at the center, she knows much less about NxStage that I do and, as far as I know, never talks to them.

Thanks, good idea, but the damage doesn't happen here.  It's while they are being thrown around by UPS on the way here.
