I received my lab report yesterday and had a few out of range results.  I asked my doctor about it and he explained briefly as always.  How and where do some of you search for additional confirmation answers because I feel sometimes his answer alone is not enough.

There are a couple of good threads on here under the FAQ section - the Medical Acronyns thread can be especially helpful.  You also might want to check out the Kidney School website. - www.kidneyschool.org  They have a section on lab tests that is worth working through.

i am a 51 year old male on dialysis for 3 years now. This is my second time. My brother donated a kidney to me about 13 years ago. I found this site on another site. I had to laugh when i saw what it was called. I hope to meet people from all over to talk about dialysis.

So do I, but I never get them. Since we switched insurances the new doctors suck.

i get mine from the nurse at the center the session after they are drawn. i get the same report that they give the doctor which is much more complete than the watered down report the dietitian give people more than a week after the draw.  (i fully realize she prepares reports for lots of people. but really, something so important shouldn't take so long, especially when the computer does all the work)

sluff, have your doctor put your name and address on the lab results so the lab will send you a copy as welll.  That way you don't have to wait for the doctor's office to get their act together.
